Legend of the Dragoon, Lost Odyssey, Fallout 2, and fuck-all, Morrowind.
The last one is the only one I don't regret. The fucking Ashlanders pissed me off. I killed all of them and never picked it back up.
o_O how did the ashlanders piss you off? their quest were some of the best. aside from the clear the daedric shine quest. also the main ashlander camp was in the middle of fucking nowhere and a pain in the ass to get to...
Thanks to this I've just started Morrowind again. Though I always thought the game was brilliant, just gave up on guilds when I accidentally became a vampire.
It happens, I guess. Ahaha. I apologize for forcing you to dig it out and play it, bahah.
Argh my character runs so SLOWLY. Had to find the good old paper morrowind map too.
xD Faaantastic. Always fun!

Well, this didn't get off topic AT ALL.

Demon's Souls, but NOT because of the difficulty. I actually liked how you had to be very careful and patient to be able to progress, but what I didn't like was the incredible amount of stuff you could never know beforehand (how the hell was I supposed to know that I shouldn't have attacked an NPC who deliberately pushed me down a pit because he might be useful later on??). Also, the weapon upgrading system was never very well explained and you never really knew if a weapon was worth upgrading or not. I did love the atmosphere though, especially in the earlier areas.

I did not finish GTA San Andreas, the story got to long and boring, and I the game world was far to big.

I didn't finish the first Condemned because over helfway through I got stuck in an area where I kept getting killed and I was two seconds away from burying my controller in my 42" LCD tv.

RDR, I couldn't bring myself to finish, I skipped most of the cutscenes and didn't really get in to the story and then, towards the end, I got bored with the whole game in general.

Dark Sector, I gave up on playing very quickly, due to it being a shitty game, and Half-Life 2 because I found it really boring.

And I gave up on Ninja Gaiden (the X-box version) after fucking up a save file over half-way through and being unwilling to put myself back through the hellish slog to get to where I was.
There have probably been more games that I gave up on, either for being shit, boring or ridiculously hard but I can't remember them right now.

Looking back at all the games I've played over the years there are like 50% that I gave up on or haven't completed. I guess that when I was younger I didn't have as much patience (or a walkthrough).

So I was wondering what the oldest game you have that you still haven't completed?

Mine is back on the PS1 (so not that old). Two of the first games I got Small Soldiers and Wild 9. Though I wouldn't say I'm stuck on Small Soldiers just stopped playing it for other games. Saying this I went back to both a few weeks ago and completed another level on each, probably no where near the end though.

So any old games you got stuck on or just abandoned? Also do you think you'll go back and complete them now you're older?
small soldiers, I got to the last level.

chiphazad, three health bars, no cover with the mortars and two standard gun.

to this day i still flinch at childrens toys
Haha. I think I've only just got past nuclear mine...and by the way you describe it I'm not sure I want to get to the last level. xD

Final Fantasy Dirge of Cerberus, because I frankly never got used to the controls. Did get pretty far, but I just...eh, quit on it.

Megaman X4, couldn't beat Web Spider.

Sonic Unleashed. Grudgingly got past all the stages, then when it wanted me to do mini-stages to get the stupid medals or whatever, I said "F THIS" and quit.

BioShock, which I've had since late 2009. I get lost at Hephaestus and give up every time. I wasn't really enjoying it that much anyway, so it's no big deal to me.

I've never finished Oblivion despite the fact that I got really into it for a while, I've logged 40 hours into it but never finished it. I moved on to other things.

I bought X3: Terran Conflict on launch day for £25-ish, played for all of 15 minutes and gave up. That game is impenetrable, I tell you that. It wouldn't tell me how to sell things or leave a shop-ship, so I was trapped in a trading screen FOREVER.

I only recently finished Metro 2033 despite buying it in a Steam sale a while ago. Don't know why I gave up on, it's an excellent game and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Half Life 2: Episodes 1 and 2. GoW2. They were all incredibly boring and tedious.

Assassin's creed. My gaming PC never could run it right there was about 1.5 delay on every action. running jumping fighting hiding, everything. the audio didn't sync up right with the slow video so the audio would finish half a minute before the dialog did and i'd sit watching lips move to stoney silence. i don't have a PS3 so i couldn't play it any other way. eventually the problems just added up so much that during the last batch of assassinations things got too hard for a delay and i couldn't go any further. It was fun and i really wanted to play till the end i just couldn't.
I got so many games on steam that I can't get too far in cause my pc can't take it. I'll have to complete them when I upgrade.

Never finished Baldur's Gate. Think I've got like 80% into it but never bothered to venture to the actual end city. Mainly because I'm afraid of running into wizard bitches and basilisks.

Oblivion. Got into the worldy bit and stopped doing the main quests. Not finished other guilds yet.

Metal Gear Solid. I've never been able to beat REX. Without one of those old cheat cartridges anyway.

Final Fantasy XIII. Got to bit where the game apparently becomes good but I'd had enough.

Loads of game on the Specy and Atari, from when I was to young to care about completing games. I suppose the oldest game (which I actually set out to complete) was Return to Zork because of sheer frustration. Battletoads on the SNES also deserves an honourable mention due to the fact it made me go partially insane.

Condemned 2, as soon as he got stupid shouty DBZ powers and i was expected to start shooting instead of clobbering people i was out...

Also Lost Odyssey i got stuck on the 2 identical bosses you need to beat on the same health bar, then you need to beat an army... Once i'd sold it i found out it was a supposed to lose fight so why i had to beat the first few is beyond me...

Let's see what comes to my mind from the top of my head... I mean, there are plenty of games I never finished.

Mass Effect 1 and 2, never got far because the gameplay is just so fucking bad and the "choices" are so bland it kills everything that was ever interesting in the setup.

Dragon Age 1 and 2, again, shitty gameplay, completely random combat (and way too much of it) and stupid choices.

Crysis, once the aliens came, I lost interest.

Grand Theft Auto 4, as much fun as it is at times, the realism really gets in the way of the fun most of the time, and thus I never finished it. Tried several times too, but just couldn't do it.

Fallout New Vegas, got actually pretty far, but the bugs and the shitty oblivion engine just got the better of me.

Assassin's Greed, too repetitive, enough said. After seeing the cities once, revisiting them felt as exciting as a pile of rocks.

And countless others, for various reasons. Some I can explain, others I can't.

I tend to put the effort in to beating all the games I play (mind you, not usually to 100% completion) but sometimes, it is a long process. The one game I can think of off the top of my head that I have yet to beat is Far Cry 2. I've been playing it for two years now and it feels like a chore. At first, I enjoyed the setting and the story had promise but then I got really annoyed when the place was devoid of life and ALL the human NPCs shot at me even if I was just standing around.

Oh and the voice acting, just brutal.

I'm pretty good. I finish almost everything. Sometimes if the game is just not worth my time I'll simply forget about it, but that's a pretty rare occurrence. I can only think of one recent game where that happened which was FEAR 2, and I only got it because it was a 2 for one deal with Napoleon: Total War (which was awesome).

The only major game I can think of would be Bioshock. Not sure why, should get back to it but I just really lost interest about 3/4 through. It's strange because that's usually the kind of game I love but it just never really 'grabbed me'

There's really only one game that I never really got to finish and that's Too Human, and I think it's the only game that I have no INTENTION of finishing. Seriously screw that game, if all your efforts at making a game enjoyable are going to go to the first level, and ONLY the first level, you need to stop making games.

It was an old PS2 Indiana Jones game. I got to the part where the winged demon ***** was fighting me and I just kinda said fuck it I'm bored XD
I haven't finished alot of games, although most of them are because I want the fond memories of them and not their Indigo Prophecy Syndrome endings.
