Games you rag on because you hate them

this may earn me a bit (or a lot) of hatemail but...
personally i find myself ragging on almost any game thats placed under the 'horror' genre on next gen consoles, particularly dead space. The reason being is that video game developers seem to have watched horror movies and thought to themselves that the scariest part of a game for a player is bloating whatever stands between your character and freedom with as much ordinance as possible. i strangle dead space with a very firm grip primarily because it has absolutely no pacing, the characters are unrelatable, the very things your supposed to feel afraid of lose that fear factor when your blowing them away.
Also Metroid Other M, ugh, just because

I can't think of any franchises/games that I outright hate... the closest to hate would probably be crappy licensed and shovelware games, but games of that sort are too far off my radar to have much impact. I can think of some series/titles I haven't liked: CoD, most MMOs, recent Final Fantasies, and Halo come to mind the most quickly. However, I can usually understand why people would like them and keep ragging to a minimum

I have a tendency to knock COD at least twice when its brought up around me because it does have that distinct feel that Americans are pushing their guns into our faces (optional homosexuality joke here, I honestly didn't mean for it to come out like that and I have nothing against homosexuals but on the other hand, I somethymes think that America deserves it) and screams: "WE'RE THE GOOD GUYS!"
For me, the two games I hate most that I always feel like ragging on are Final Fantasy XII and Final Fantasy X-2. Both games are guilty of the same sin - wasting my Goddamn Mother Fuckin Time while I could have done something more productive, like have sex!! Over 100 hours in both of those games, and I'm still missing tons of shit, plus in FFXII, the best items are from random steals and chests. Moreover, some items are unobtainable after a certain point (fuckin Zodiac Spear!).
There are plenty of games out their, like Halo for example. I played through the game a couple times, even beat the original on Legendary mode. Overall it was a decent experience, it's not my favorite game, but I don't hate generic FPS games like Halo 3, Singularity or Haze that much because they've never done anything physical to hurt me.

Sure, part of it is my fault for not stopping, sure, but I also blame my pride and unwillingness to give up until I saw everything in those games. I completely agree with you on RE5, but I completely disagree with you on RE4. Not that it matters, but did you give it a chance, or did you just die in the first village in the beginning +10 times, throw your controller in rage, and never play it again? Because I have a friend who did that and he has no idea what a great game he missed out on. It's also in the top 10 on many lists of the top 100 greatest games ever. Haha that about sums up my experience and opinion of GTA IV, that and the dodgy combat system and the fact that your default movement was a leisurely stroll, and that the button to run/sprint (and this problem is probably exclusive to consoles) required the use of your thumb hence leaving you unable to move the camera while running.Neverhoodian said:

Yeah, I don't really do the whole "hating games because Yahtzee does it" thing that's so popular around here.
Except maybe JRPGs, but that comes from a long-standing, totally unfounded hatred for everything Japanese. Please don't quote me to say my hatred is stupid and unfounded, because I know. I just said that.

I tend to rag on games not because I outright hate them, but because they disappointed me, like Dragon Age (bland), Tales Of Symphonia, (annoying), and Oblivion (stupid).
Mostly the Halo and Call of Duty franchises. I really do accept the fact the me and people who like these games can just agree to disagree, but occasionally I'll bring up how bland and uninspired Halo is or how shallow and buggy CoD is just to piss off my friends. Also, I just don't think a game should stand on multiplayer alone (as it exists now), and it does bother me some that its not advancing beyond essentially a game of tag (which basically what a death match is).
I did try it and I will play atleast 5-7 hours before I will say screw it. I did beat RE4 but couldnt stand RE5 enough to finish. I had to struggle to play as much as I did of the 2008 Prince of Persia game I wanted to punch someone for how bad that wasResiEvalJohn said:

Call of Duty - Spray down game that hasnt changed since Modern Warfare 1 and still sells loads of copies.
Any game on the Wii- Frustrates me to play the Wii, although I understand the market its aiming for and that isnt me.
