ffxii. i've had that thing lying around for years. got pretty close last time i tried to beat it, but i gave it up because i got a ps3 and there were much more interesting games to play.

EDIT: Another one, FFXII, because the game is a mockery to the rest of the FF series in my opinion.

Haven't finished that either. After three separate attempts I can completely agree with you. Hell, despite all the hate that XIII gets it's still better than what XII was.MacDonaldFin said:

Commandos 2, was playing it co-op but I had to reformat and lost our progress..
Dark Messiah, same thing as above but no co-op
Oblivion I didnt pick up until later and just never got around to it.. Reformatted
Gothic 2 was bleh and made no sense to me but I still want to get around to it

Mega Man 9, it's so unforgiving even for an odd numbered Mega Man (even numbers are always easier)
Ultima 5, I was like 10 and knew nothing about the previous game, so needlessly to say I went no where

Both Mass Effects, story wasn't as great as people think it is, gameplay too nerfed for idiots to be fun to play

Portal
I vowed to beat portal before the second comes out but i'm stuck on, what i remember, level 20 were your on one side of a chasm with a whole crap load of sentries on panels and you need to do like a whole bunch of quick accurate stuff but now i've gone blank.

Generally pretty good about finishing games I play no matter how punishing, but there are some I don't think I will ever finish:
