What are some games you want play again until you remember "that one part" that's so bad it ruins the entire game?

For me, Metroid Prime 3 and the demolition trooper escort. The troopers have low health, do pitiful damage, don't hide, don't dodge, and enemies target them over the player. Also, when they die, they let out this creepy mechanical scream that's easily one of the most distressing moments in video game history.

The underwater section of Dino Crisis 2.

I love that game, but that one section is so tedious and annoying that I just try to rush through it as fast as I can.

Halo, 2 and, 3. They all have a couple of awesome levels which I could replay over and over but then The Flood emerge and makes the game into something that I just can't freaking stand. Screw the Flood.

Bioshock. Personally, I think Bioshock is a masterpiece, and one of gaming's greatest triumphs. I'm perfectly willing to forgive its gameplay weaknesses since pretty much everything else about it is brilliant, and the gameplay as a whole is fine. But once I start playing it again, I can only get a couple hours in before I remember, "Oh, right; I spend most of the time on contrived fetch quests."

Again, brilliant masterpiece of interactive narrative, but dang the missions get annoying.

Bioshock, right after I kill Andrew Ryan (The game is like half a decade old and if you didn't know that by this point then you probably have more pressing concerns, such as your low oxygen tank). The last third of that game is just a complete mess, to be honest.

Ditto. "The Library" (Halo 1) and "Cortana" (Halo 3) are absolutely horrible horrible levels in otherwise fantastic games. I just dread having to play those levels.

/Second that

Which is a little strange because I've adored re-playing the hell out of Bioshock 2 (I've played it like 7 times now vs. 2 times for Bioshock1). What a difference being able to use plasmids and weapons at the same time makes.

Final Fantasy VIII... I god damn hate the Space section!!!

The same with FFIX. You get to disk 3 and have the entire open world to explore! Its such a good bit of the game to go around and do everything before you carry on... But you can't do EVERYTHING, you have to get to the open bit on Disk 4 to do that! The problem is, when you are at this point you REALLY don't want to do the bit in the middle (again, in space.) That bit sucks so much arse you desperately want to get out the other side so you can collect the last few weapons and rare items you couln't get before!

Need for Speed: Most Wanted.

The rubber-band AI.

Which, in Speedtrap races, doesn't even wait for you to take the lead.

And despite that, somehow, I beat it. Exactly once.

I LOVE Knights of the Old Republic. I generally play it about once a year. Or at least, I'd like to. The problem for me is right in the beginning. Taris. I hate Taris so much. The game is fuck-all boring at that point when you're going through it for a second time.

Holy shit yes. I hate Taris sooooo much. Worst opening of an RPG ever.

OT: KOTOR and KOTOR 2. They have weak-sauce beginnings.

Mass Effect, exploring all the unexplored planets. It just takes so long that cant be bothered, but I feel I have to for when I play 2 and 3 off of the same profile.

I Replay Diablo 2 every couple of years, only part that stops me is the large underground tunnel maze in in the desert stage filled entirely with giant beetles that self destruct. Not only can you not move around at all (only backwards or forwards) but it's so tedious to get through them all.

Also, Shadow Of The Colossus I just re-played recently, but I still find the horse more difficult to control than half the colossi, and the last 2 colossi are more annoying than fun when you've spent ages just trying to reach their weak spots.
