The first Assassin's Creed, the game is so fucking repetitive but the atmosphere and story are so immersive I couldn't help but get sucked into it.

Also Dragon Age 2, I got really annoyed at the copy pasted dungeons, but I forgave it for the story.

Harvest Moon: Tree of Traquility
Bad visuals, annoying music, repetitive grind, and you can't even separate stacked items. Still play it hours on end and enjoy it.

I would definitely have to say Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. So many bugs that it's developers kinda gave up on it and it became one of the ultimate fan 'Fixer-upers'.

the Call of Duty series.
yeah yeah, it requires little to NO strategy, the hit detection is off, knife teleporting is cheap as shit, and the guys from IW seem like the most smug assholes this side of Bobby Kotik's ego, but I've had a lot of fun with those stupid games over the years. it's a guilty pleasure of mine. not to mention, I played nothing but TF2 for about a month, got Black Ops, and started owning the shit out of people by using actual strategy and cunning.

Aliens vs Predator (2010) is kinda bland and the multiplayer is pretty much dead (shame, it was actually really REALLY fun), but I give it props for being able to get my heart racing every time. gather round on children, and I'll spin you a magical yarn...
so I'm playing Infestation (everyone is a Marine, one guy goes Alien. every Marine that dies spawns as an Alien. it gets hectic as shit when you have 10+ players) on Pyramid (my least favorite map. can't see shit since it's so dark, the entire inside shifts like a giant maze. Aliens and Predators DOMINATE this map). I'm trying to get to one of the unofficial safe-zones (there's a few rooms around the border of the map with some decent lighting. all the Marines tend to hole up here, especially in Infestation) and I meet up with 2 other Marines. we jump down a hole and, due to it being pitch black, I get separated after walking into a wall for a good 20 seconds. I see their arrows, and decide to follow. I notice one of the doors leading to a safe room, but it's not open, so I decide to wait for the inside to shift so I can get inside and join my teammates. then it happens. a high-pitched blip on my motion tracker. there was something RIGHT next to me. it goes dead. then, a few seconds later, ANOTHER blip. and ANOTHER. so I start spraying my pulse rifle all over the place. I hear a menacing hiss behind me. I turn around. then I hear another hiss behind me. all this time, m motion tracker's going apeshit and I can't see ANYTHING. all of a sudden, I'm knocked flat on my ass and killed. to have a game be legitimately intense and frightening in MULTIPLAYER is quite a feat. can't wait for Colonial Marines.

Fallout: New Vegas. But sometimes it's hard to forgive some of the bugs (quest items that you cannot get rid of after the questline is over, doing things in a certain order can make some quests unwinable, etc). I hope Skyrim is less buggy. Bethesda's games are often buggy, but enjoyable.

KotOR2 is unforgivable, and KotOR isn't even my favourite anything. KotOR 2 only has good writing and voice acting, which does not constitute a game, let alone a good one.

I would agree, however, with everyone who said Mirror's Edge. The forced combat towards the end sucked, but other than that it's perfectly servicable. True, I've only played it twice, but I will play it again sometime. The aesthetics and atmosphere work very well, and quite frankly so did the platforming. People always say 1st person platforming just doesn't work, but I don't know where they're coming from. It works in shooters (back when shooters still had jumping puzzles) and it works in ME. Except on that one ledge, and those airvents :p

I'm sure I've played and liked many many games of which general consensus would say they're not very good, but I've enjoyed them so much, I don't think of them as bad, so I have nothing to forgive them.
Darksiders isn't actually considered bad, only somewhat derivative. In my opinion, it should have been highly successful on the PC, cuz we get neither Zelda nor God of War. And really, a mix of two good things can only introduce people to two good things via one title.

Duke Nukem Forever? It's getting absolutely crucified for being just dumb-fun. I guess reviewers don't realise that sometimes throwing back to a certain era or type of game is always welcome and refreshing. In all honesty, playing Duke Nukem Forever just made me realise that bizarre weaponry and obscure game mechanics was what made the FPS genre so fun and playable pre let's say 2002, if only just a little bit.

Vampire Rain. I've been told numerous times that I'm probably the only one in the world who loves it, but it really felt like what a stealth game should be to me.

Kane and Lynch: Dog Days. Yes, the gameplay may be slightly repetitive, yes, the Dobermans were bloody annoying, but i love it to bits. Mostly because of the "Filmed by the world's worst camera" Effect i love.

Dragon Age 2.

Say what you will, it's a damn good game and is more closer to the Sacred Ashes trailer:

Looks a lot like Dragon age 2 to me.

Also, Fallout New Vegas: Cass and Boon. THAT IS ALL.

Way of the samurai 3; The camera sucks and the Voice acting sucks harder but the fighting is amazing and they know when to be serious or silly.

But most in all, it's make me feel like a badass.

This. It's just so addictive! Even doing the single player challenges with the unforgiving AI is fun, and also rewarding as you get EXP every time!

Like a lot of users here: Dragon Age 2.

Yes the caverns/mansions etc were bloody repetitive, yes the plot had a few holes in it, yes it didn't allow enough NPC interaction like in Origins. I still loved it. I loved the characters, the story, overall, was pretty good, the fighting was more interactive than in origins (for consoles). Hopefully DA:3 will not be rushed and will have some time put into it.

I would also have the say the Sims series. It does get boring and repetitive...yet why does it keep dragging me back?!...Damn I can't wait to upgrade my PC so I can get the 3rd series...

Dragon Age 2 I'll forgive, because it's still a competent game with a decent storyline.
Metro2033 I'll forgive for its creativity, nice environments, and awesome potential that I'm sure will be realized in Last Light.

I see a lot of people mentioning KOTOR 2, but I cannot forgive that game and its horrendous ending >_>

Well... Dwarf Fortress is imposibly complex and you need a tutorial to be able to START the game, but once you do... You stil need a tutorial(s) to play at all. But once you get trough that... this game can sometimes be a lot of !!Fun!!.
Plus KotOR2, Cortex Command and Osmos.

I know. I'm such an XP whore. Seeing those numbers climb just makes me want to play more and more xD

Fallout: New Vegas.

When it first came out, I was incredibly disappointed in it, I found the new crafting options needlessly complicated, the story uninspired, the graphics dated, the radio playlist unforgivably short and lacking in any really good songs that even remotely fit the setting (seriously there are three songs on the main radio station that feature yodeling and absolutely zero songs by Elvis, despite a large gang of Elvis impersonators featuring prominently in the city of New Vegas itself) and the absolute dearth of memorable characters to be just the final nail.

I didn't even bother to finish it the first time around, and then recently, after being horribly disappointed with Red Faction: Armageddon, I tried New Vegas again and lo and behold, it was a hell of a lot better than I remembered it.

Granted, all of the above issues were still issues, but I found I didn't nearly mind it so much.

The moral of the story is, if you have an old game that's pretty good but not great, buy Red Faction: Armageddon and make that old game look fucking spectacular by comparison!

(I will not forgive RF: Armageddon. Linear like a string is not necessarily bad, more heavily based in a single story is not necessarily bad, cave levels are not necessarily bad, but when the linearity includes punishments for leaving the beaten trail, when the single story is fucking abysmal, featuring characters that are blatantly retarded, bland like unflavored yogurt and ridiculously unlikeable and you spend nearly the entire game in a cave - in a series that is devoted to blowing up buildings, no less - there, my friend, is a completely unforgivable game. Better names for this game would have been Red Faction: Everybody On Mars Is Retarded or Magnet Gun: Someone Put This Weapon In A Better Game.)

Duke Nukem Forever. It has the spirit, but not the execution. If there where 2-4 times the amount of enemies, health packs and armor, more unique ways of executing opponents to regain health, and the ability to hold on to more then 2 guns, it would have been much better.

I don't think you should be able to hold every gun, but I think there could be categories for the weapons and have one weapon per category. i.e. one pistol slot (add a alien pistol or a magnum for variety) one ripper/shotgun/alien machinegun slot, one big gun slot (rpg/enforcer/rail gun) then a "special" slot (Freeze gun/Devastator/Add some alien bfg thingy). You have to make a decision about what weapon you want to keep on you without feeling too limited about what you can bring to a fight.

I like DNF so far... but I keep getting this feeling that it would have been way better if gearbox just went total old school instead of hp regen only 2 gun trying to be cod bullshit.

Alpha Protocol and Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines are both incredibly buggy games but a hell of a lot of fun

also I've forgiven Oblivion despite my initial dislike of the game. I gave it another go and thanks to the hard work and talent of the modding community and Bethesda's distribution of the construction kit most of the flaws have been fixed and I'm enjoying it. not quite as much as Morrowind but that's a hard act to follow anyway. I wish more companies (and especially MS and Sony for our console gamer friends) would embrace the custom-content-creation rather than just tolerate it and in some cases even oppose it

Jade Empire is also a fantastic game that suffers from some poor reviews and until Dragon Age 2 some considered it to be BioWare's worst game. personally I disagree and found it to be a very enjoyable and rather unique game

Jade Empire I enjoyed as well. I still can't figure out who on Earth thought those shooter (and if you haven't played it I mean proper vertical scrolling, button-mashing arcade shooter bits) sections fitted into an RPG. Mind you, I'm also a sucker for Arena/Gladiatorial sections in games and seemed to remember a whole section of the game playing with that idea.
