ADOM is the only game that has kept me consistently kept me playing for many many years. But then it tends to take a few years just to get the hang of a roguelike...

In terms of commerical games I guess Mario Kart 64 would be one of my most popular, along with Red Alert. Every now and then I'll go back to some old favourites like FF7, Loom, Colonisation and the old Worms (the Amiga Director's Cut version was the best).

Right now i'm on a 2142 binge, but I'm pretty sure that won't last more than a year. Never really got to into any one game, I like variety too much.
Feels good to talk again eh, Purple Rain :)

I still feel the need for G-Police once in a while... thought maybe that's because I know of so few decent space-pilot-sim games. Especially since I was a console gamer for my childhood - we had G-Police, Colony Wars and nothingness. Pity, really - I loved that type of game.

The November just gone I took the Sega Saturn's 'Sega Rally' for a spin once again and loved it, so I suspect my copy of Sega Rally (Revo) will be played for a long time to come (I can't believe it's actually better than the original).

Under Defeat (My fav shmup see).
Parodius 2: Fantastic Journey
Saturn Bomberman.

Dead or Alive 2 for the Dreamcast or PS2. I can't decide which version I prefer. the Dreamcast version looks better, but the PS2 appears to be faster with more levels.

Street Fighter III: Third Strike for the DC. The up and coming one with its dumping of 2D graphics has put me off believing there'll ever be a better sequel.

Puyo Pop 4
Crazy Taxi
Sonic CD - European/ Japanese version - Mega CD.
Keio Flying Squadron - Mega CD.
Silent Hill 3.
Beach Life

Far Cry (at least until the sequel is released. The only FPS I've completed on single player more than once and enjoyed immensely. Gotta stand for something).
Columns Crown (GBA)

Terramax: You're kinda missing the point. When you've memorized every last line and pixel in a game like Psychonauts, it'd stop being fun.

I'd go for Team Fortress 2, SSB Melee, or Brawl, and Unreal Tournament 2004. Oh, and Garry's Mod. You essentially have a whole bunch of games just by having Garry's Mod.

Mega Man Anniversary Collection - No matter how many times I play it, the final boss battle of Mega Man 7 always gives a good challenge. When I have a lot of free time, I play a different Mega Man game every day.

Mega Man X Collection - Like the original, except even better.

Starcraft - Yeah, I'm a big "noob" in multiplayer, but at least I've had some good moments, like cannon rushing my friend as the Protoss, and beating a guy 1 on 1 by blocking him from securing additional resource points and eventually beating him in a war of attirition. The single player campaign rocks as well.

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles - Its gameplay differs significantly from traditional rail-shooters, and it's no worse off for it. Unique, and it still manages to not suck, unlike a lot of games out for the Wii.

F-Zero GX - Every now and then, I like to play the last Story mission on Very Hard. Fun times. Captain Falcon's end credits theme kicks over 9000 kinds of ass.

I personally will always and have always since the first day I played it, had a special place on my hard-drive for Ascendancy, and will continue to play it forever and ever (or until I expire).

@monodiabloloco, I played MOM in the last year. It brought back some good memories (but I always played as Human, as Palladins ruled all).
Dude! How could I forget X-COM!? I still love that one (again, thank you DOSBox+D-Fend!). I tried the modern remake UFO games.. they pretty much blow to me.
Humans? HAH /sneer my Uber halflings will destroy j00! lol
Nothing like taking over two worlds with an army of halflings. Peace loving little fat guys they may be, but they can sure sling a stone!

Point taken, so I've shortened it to games I really do rarely go without playing pretty regularly.

That being said, Diablo II and Ocarina of time? Surely if you memorised those games?

The main section , oblivion, is fun and all but the Shivering Isles are always a blast to play.

GTA Vice city (it just feels a lot better than san andreas. Both Liberty city and san andreas felt a little bit claustrophobic for me)

Ocarina of time (i just like to go around, talking with everyone else and constantly going on a hopeless quest to find the triforce. Ever since the game came out and the first rumours came to surface that i do this. i dont care it doesnt rly exist in the game. I just go around looking for secret places/glitches even though i know them all. it's fun. that's all)

Majora's mask (same thing as ocarina of time. Clock Town feels so alive! everything i see, is as if i first saw it).

NES super mario 1 and 2, and Gameboy's first super mario. the game boy version is short, but it's endlessly fun

Ultima online. at least until the admin of my server pulls the plug :\

Starcraft, Warcraft 3, and any Unreal Tournament game are my regulars for well-known games. As for minor titles, I love Geneforge by Spiderweb Software, Crimsonland, and Geometry Wars, though I don't think the last one counts as minor.

Which games I would play forever? well it depends on the platform...

-PC: half-life, call of duty (the whole series) and maxpayne 1 and 2. Of course I would count the modifications for each game, which made them even longer and funnier.
-Nintendo 64: goldeneye 64, ocarina of time, perfect dark and turok 2 (well, now I've found a pc version of it I don't know if I could include it here)
-Game cube: Time splitters 2 and future perfect would be the choices, besides super smash bros melee, paper mario: TTYOD, sonic adventure 2... It's a difficult choice...
