My father has negative respect for gaming- even if he doesn't say it, he thinks I waste my time on a stupid 'hobby'. Because shooting air pistols is so much more productive, apparantly...
My mother loves that one Yoshi's Story on nintendo. She was quite happy upon realising it was on virtual console, let me tell you.
Oh, and Tetris. She was pretty awesome at that, too.

When I'm playing a shooting game my mother tells me to play that Sonic fellow cause she remembers playing with me when I was a wee lad. Haha she even saved my butt a few time reminding me of where the traps are.

My mom likes games with a deep storyline, e.g. GTA IV, Mass Effect, Max Payne.

Me and her have pretty similar tastes : cinematic = win.

My dad is into football games that's about it.
My mum on the other hand is into Survival Horrors which is pretty awesome. When I was younger we used to double team everything. She'd do the killing and I'd solve the puzzles : )

My mom HATES gaming. My Dad was a huge tomb raider fan. Then he played Uncharted and Uncharted 2 and now he is an Uncharted fan instead. It single-handedly ruined Tomb Raider for him, my dad also like racing sims.

Anything with Wii in the title. Except Wii Music, it will never enter the house or else I will burn it.

My dad used to like playing Mario on the SNES when we were younger, and I remember he would always try tilting the controller to make Mario get a little extra oomph in his jump to the next platform.

My mom isn't quite as adventurous, but she does sometimes watch me play Final Fantasy on my PS when I come home from college to visit.

My dad used to play X-Wing for the PC. My mom plays Solitaire sometimes, but neither of them play games really.

my mom LOVES Hellgate: London. She was so pissed when HanBitSoft stabbed flagship in the back and the multiplayer got shut down. She still plays singleplayer though, and every time she gets to Sydonai she insists that I be home to watch her kill him.

I think she's gloating that she's got him three/four times and I only ever got him once...

Got the gramma to play Donkey Kong Country with me back in the days of yore when it was new and the world was a more innocent place, free of the xenophobic paranoid stench that presently permeates...

God, I gotta lay off the psychedelics. My dad could give a shit, and my mom absolutely hates all video games. Then again, I sometimes have to help her with the remote when I'm over there, so I can understand why...
