my mum's a technophobe and my dad while pretty hooked on computers never played a game..and im pretty sure that he thinks games are part of a conspiracy to control the youth..

Well, my mother's spent the better part of 5 years not learning to e-mail so no games for her, but my father bought me a Commodore 64 when I was 6 or 7 and a an Amiga 500 for himself shortly after. He stuck to the Amiga, although we upgraded to a 1200 with 300MB(!!) harddrive and 2 ekstra disk drives, while I got a PC, but he's gamed all sorts of games through the years
He's mainly FPS and car gamer though and now that he's getting old, he mostly just plays Call Of Duty from time to time.
Still, he'll always be a true gamer to me

My dad was into Doom, Myst, and he's expressed an interest in Bioshock.

same with my dad, he liked DOOM, Myst, and Duke Nukem, and had this strange interest in BioShock, in fact a few of my friend's fathers have expressed an interest in BioShock, it's very strange the effect the game has on dads, ive noticed.

Dad loves to play the Total War series and many various Cricket/Racing games. I got him playing Half Life 2 once.

Back in the early ninties, Mum was addicted to Tetris. Now she plays Bejeweled and Word Whomp.

My mom is into the old Mario games for Nintendo and some games like Mario Kart. As for newer games, she likes Mario Kart Double Dash, New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Wii Fit.

My dad's read the works of Ayn Rand. As soon as I showed him the demo, we went out and bought it. Life is good.

My dad usually has a better idea of new releases than me but his current favorite is Left 4 Dead 2 (too bad he sucks at most new games). He plays L4D2 every weekend unless him, my mom and I play rock band/guitar hero. My mom can play better than most my friends and is one of the few people over 40 who can beat songs on hard.
