Basically everything Nintendo related.
I never played any of Zelda, Metroid or Mario games, and I just don't care about them! I don't hate them though. The thing that I don't get is why are those games are such big freaking deal in North America!
Having never played them might contribute just a liiiittle bit as to why you don't understand why they're such popular franchises.[/quote]

Sure, and I don't deny it. Still sick of hearing about them :)

Nothing really bothers me too much, but a lot of conversations are just old and tired.

The big one is Call of Duty. I could not give less of a shit about the franchise, and it is so fucking overexposed. But the only time it really gets to me is when people judge actual good, well-made, interesting games by CoD's standards. Which, outside of the core gaming community, is FUCKING ALL THE BLOODY TIME.

Nintendo is vastly overrated. Moviebob especially is annoying. Considering how much he seems to value creativity and innovation and storytelling in films, it is confusing that his favorite games are among the most creatively bankrupt products on the market.

The Souls games. Hard does not equal good. Difficulty is not my main goal in gameplay, and leave me alone for enjoying an experience that I can reasonably get through on a couple tries.

The Walking Dead. Zombies NEED to go away. Yes, I even watched the tv show on Netflix and quite enjoyed it, but I am at the end of my rope on goddamn zombies. I have no interest in a game about them. Besides, from what I hear the gameplay is rudimentary and I can get the oh-so-magnificent story on youtube.

Mass Effect 3. God, I love this game. Seriously, I'm actually not sick at all of talking about the game or the series, but I sure as fuck am tired of people dividing in half as soon as the conversation starts and bitching at each other. I want just one thread where people reminisce about what they liked about the trilogy without some butt-hurt twit crashing the fun. JUST LET ME LOVE MY MASS EFFECT.

Blech, turns out I can still get worked up about this shit.

Seriously? Your comparison for good story writing is Chris Avellone? Fucking seriously? Obsidian can't write an actually interesting story to save its ass.

If we're gonna talk engaging stories lets talk Irrational games, or Telltale, or anyone else really.

OT: Fucking Dark Souls and related games.

Yes, we get it, your super hardcore for beating it about 12 seconds faster than everyone else, get over it.
Sorry but TELLTALE??? Because of Walking Dead? C'mon at least use a company that doesn't have a truckload of source material to use for their "original" stories

Half Life; At no point have I ever cared about these games, and that is unlikely to change. A side the fact it looked good for its time i've seen nothing that special about it.

Bethesda anything; I dislike Bethesda, a lot, they've never made a good game far as I'm concerned and no amount of 'mods' can fix that (which they hide behind for PC release so the player base can do their job for them)

EA; I get it, 'EA is evil', do we really need to keep on about it? It's not like EA is going anywhere anytime soon, and at this point, pretty sure people are ether willfully ignorant or straight up don't care about the stuff EA does

WoW: Mists of Pandaria. SHUT UP!!! NO ONE LIKES PANDAS THAT MUCH!!! Also, it gives off the "methinks the lady doth protest too much" vibe since it keeps pumping itself up so much.

Journey. Yes it was great and yes it moved me but guess what, a lot of games have done that and they've done it better. I liked it but it was way too short.

The Walking Dead. It was a good story and very emotional but I hated how my choices didn't matter at all in the long run.

1) Walking Dead. I hate zombie setting, and this one is making me watnt to kill a teddy-bear with its annoying popularity.
2) Mass Effect 3. This game is offensive in all ways and yet lots of people keep telling "it's da best game evah!"
3) All [good] console exclusives

-Half Life 2. People act like it's Jesus' second coming or something. We get it, the game was awesome when it came out. I played it and didn't like it much but whatever. Now, can we please shut up about it? It's not the best thing ever. Sorry to break it to you.

-The Walking Dead. I don't like the show so I don't wanna play the game! I'm sure it's probably good and some people are obsessing over it. That's fine. Can you guys just lay off now?! The more I hear about it, the less I wanna play it!

-CoD. Okay, the game is good. I like it, I'll admit it. But it comes out every year and every year people make a bigger fuzz about it. Just calm down; if you don't buy it right now, you can probably get it in a couple of months way cheaper. Or wait for the sequel next year.

-Final Fantasy VII/HD Remake. Look, I admit FFVII was revolutionary in the same way HL2 was. And hey, I love me some Final Fantasy. But Square-Enix is just not gonna do it. Not gonna happen. They have their dumb reasons, I'm sure. (I just worry they're not making enough profit when they have all the weapons needed to make profits!). And FFVII is not the best FF game EVER. I'll admit I didn't like it much but let's be honest; it's not the one and only good FF game out there.

-Mass Effect. You know, the games are...good. But between the ranting about ME3's ending and the fanboys' dreams about Shepherd and his/her companions, it gets on my nerves. And where are we at right now with this game? Do we love it or do we hate it? I mean, HL2 is "loved" by the fans, right? But ME3? isn't it hated on because of the ending? So why are we still talking about it? Or are we talking about it because we secretly like it but don't wanna admit it?
I'm sticking to Dragon Age, thank you very much.

PS: No, do not try to prove me wrong. This thread is about what games WE are tired of hearing about, not "Start a debate about a game" thread. It's my opinion, respect it.
Just felt like that needed to be said. *Sigh*

Maybe because it's because I didn't think the game was an underrated classic and thought it was O.K, But I am sick and tired of hearing about Spec Ops: The Line. At best, it was just a competent shooter with an above average story. The combat was O.K, but the cover system was annoying and the weapons sounded weak. Oh, and the story, It was so annoying when ever the game kept having it's moment of saying "YOU'RE A MONSTER! LOOK AT YOU! YOU'RE A FUCKING MONSTER!" when ever I had to make a choice of some sorts that had someone dying, and then went back to make me kill more people. I know people are gonna say "well that's the point," doesn't excuse it for poor execution. Now EVERYONE has to talk about it, and I'm just getting sick of hearing about it and how"amazing it is." Has this ever happened to you? A game that's so talked about, but you didn't enjoy it on the same level of enthusiasm as others? Keep in mind you don't have to think the game is overrated or bad, it can still be a good game.
The story is never trying to call you a monster. I know it can be confusing, especially after the white phosphorus bit where your teammate is calling you a monster, but the real point of all those events was to show what it's like to be a soldier. You are suppose to empathise with these soldiers because most of the time, it's not THEIR choice, they're ordered to do their job. The story is really trying to show the horrors that war creates, not call soldiers a monster or to punish the player for doing something they had to do. The whole purpose of those scenes is a representation of what war causes man to do and the degredation of humanity. Yeah the cover system can be infuriating at times, but the story is far from above average, it is very well made and intergrates well with the gameplay.

ANYWAY, I get the point of the thread, lets not get angry at someone for not liking a game, to each their own.

OT: I'm kinda sick of hearing multiple games and how 'great' they are. Quick lists and reasosn

-Day Z (technically a mod)
It really isn't that fun, and ARMA II is much more entertaining than it.

-Half Life series
I didn't play any of the games when they first came out, so when I play them they just feel old and the story and protagonist are quite boring.

-The Walking Dead
The gameplay shits me to tears

-Mass Effect 3
I'm sick of hearing the hate for this game, and the angry shouting that comes my way when I dare say that I think it is GOTY worthy

and lastly, Dark Souls
It really isn't that spectacular a game, and difficulty wise, the Witcher series is much better.

Because Obsidian didn't have the entire Star Wars mythos, or Fallout Mythos, or Dungeons and Dragons...
You get the idea.

Say what you will but TellTale wrote a convincing story with a convincing cast.

Sonic, anything to do with Sonic, I don't know what's brought about all the recent activity around this franchise but the sooner it goes away the better in my opinion.
