Games you're looking forward to

I'll add to the Metroid love in this thread. In the kotaku interview (which I was going to link to before I saw OP had already done so) Shinya Takahashi said, "So at this point we have two different types of Metroid games. We have the Prime style of Metroid game and we have the more traditional style of Metroid game. We feel that we do need to take care of both of these styles of play."

To things right there that I can look forward to were just mentioned, 2D and 3D Metroids(!) and no word about Other M at all. (They seemed to have learned their lesson with how to treat the series and expect financial success.) I was so excited when I first read that interview. (I hope they go with something resembling Zero Mission for the 2D Metroid. IMHO, it perfectly captured the openness of Super, while being friendly to newcomers off put by having no direction.)

Otherwise I kinda lack the enthusiasm for other games but a few are out there in the distance:
Zelda U, after Skyward Swords laggy controls, they're going back to buttons(hopefully), yay
Shantae and the Pirate's Curse/Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, more metroidvania fun
DooM, If they recapture the chaos of the first two, it would be a good time to spend way to much on a new PC build.
Mighty No. 9, it's Mega Man, except without Capcom execs shooting themselves in the foot every time he's mentioned

The two I was looking forward to most this year Bayonetta 2 and Persona 4 Ultimax are already out and while I havent had chance to try Bayonetta yet P4U has not disappointed.

Off the top of my head games I am looking forward to are:-

Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax
Guilty Gear Xrd
Final Fantasy XV
Persona 5
Xenoblade Chronicles 2

There are probably more but these are the ones that jump out.

Yeah, I'm a little excited for Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain.

Also, FFXV is the final test for FF; if this one sucks, I won't pick up another Final Fantasy game. It's not like I have the disposable income anymore to throw at a series which is just not getting any better.

Shadow of Mordor may be out, but I haven't played it, so I am still excited to play that.

And Far Cry 4 looks amazing, and I cannot wait to play that either (I didn't really manage to get into 3, as my PC sucks. So I'll be getting it for the PS4, plus, you know, Asian protagonist!)

I'm still waiting for a PAL-release of Azure Striker Gunvolt, as well as the Phoenix Wright collection on 3DS.

Let me see...

Dragon Age: Inquisition - I will expect the youtuber's review for this one, but i'm at least hopeful that they have learned from the Dragon Age 2 mistakes, if they have? Them i'm buying it.

The Witcher 3 - Already preordered. It's amazing how i didn't think i would like the first or the second game, but i loved them both, so i'm really looking forward to that...And i'm the only one that after watching the trailer really would love the possibility of playing as Yennefer? Going from a swordmaster to a mage-type would be really interesting in one part or another.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance - A realistic historical game set in the Middle Ages? I'm a history buff so i'm certainly in!

Mount and Blade 2 - Loved the first one, i hope they deliver with this one, and that the modding is as good as the last one. Still remember the mode that was in the Sengoku Era, or even better, the one that was in the Warhammer setting. Lots of possibilities there.

Resident Evil Remake HD - That was one of my favourite games when i had a gamecube, so i'm pretty happy on having it on Steam in my PC.

Doom - After Wolfenstein i'm interested with what they're doing with this one.

Bloodborne, Bloodborne and Bloodborne. That is without a doubt the game I'm looking forward to the most. Hidetaka Miyazaki is the biggest talent in game-design this day. Other games I'm looking forward to are The Order 1886, Batman and MGS5. I really want to play RE Remake HD as well eventhough I already played it to death on Gamecube. I'm also glad the game gets preserved like this instead of being relegated to fading Gamecube copies. For all its faults Capcom atleast isn't as stupid as Konami in preserving its games, like 'losing' the game's original code like Konami did with Silent Hill 2(which lead to the atrocious HD version).

Persona 5 and Total War: Attila. Though, I should probably consider upgrading my hardware for the latter.

Maybe Five Nights at Freddy's 2 if I have the stomach to play the first one.

Now, that I'm having a lot of fun with Civ Beyond Earth, a game I greated with a "meh" when it was announced, it's time to carefully name a few games I'm looking forward to!

Project Cars: I'm finding my way back into racing simulations lately. I recently bought the half simulation/half arcade Grid: Autosport and had to realize how much more fun this game is than a pure arcade racing game. So I'm waiting how this game's reviews will be at release and then probably gonna give it a try

Binding of Isaac Rebirth: Steam tells me that I played the original Binding of Isaac for 54 hours. That's a lie. I think I put ~100hours into that game, but Steam doesn't track your gaming time in Isaac if you start it directly from the .exe.
As weird as it sounds: that game will be my highlight of this year's gaming

Metal Gear Solid 5: I think this will be worth a buy. But first give me all previous titles on PC, goddammit!

Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Enhanced Edition: I'm tempted to preorder that one over at GoG, but I think it'll need the Enhanced Edition to be worth it. And yup, I'm expecting that this game needs an EE, just like 1 and 2 did.
They're honest developers that are giving away these Enhanced Editions as free patches, so I'm not even mad at them for always doing that, though.

Hadn't even considered her as a playable character but I agree that it would be awesome. Given that Yenn's only been a book character so far, their first choice would probably be Triss though.

OT: Witcher 3 and Dragon Age: Inquisition are the only big ones for me.

Far Cry 4 and Dragon Age 3. That's about it, really.

I also can't wait to see how No Man's Sky turns out, but who knows when that's gonna be finished.

That's true i guess, and i think Triss is gonna have a difficult time with this game, probably more complicated than in the last one. About Yenn, yep, she is only a book character, but while Triss we know how she reacts, etc...Yenn most people don't, so i thought that it would be better to play as someone like that. What made me want to play as her, was the magic she displayed in the trailer, the crow that it's really a long range weapon, the earthquake, etc...A gameplay based on this could be really fun.

Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is the main game I am looking forward to that hasn't been released yet.

Also waiting for the Irish postal service to deliver my copy of Bayonetta 2, it can't come soon enough.

The Witcher 3 seems like it might be good, but I'm really sceptical as to whether or not they can pull off an interesting open world, I think the open hub areas they had in the Witcher 2 is the best option when it comes to giving the player freedom while keeping areas populated whit something interesting around every corner.

Excitement I hardly knew the, all the envy following through me, sadly I'm not excited about anything coming. Maybe a couple that I have my eye on but none that I would say I'm genuinely excited about.

Ori and the Blind forest maybe, but that's it. Maybe I'll look in the store for a surprising gem, Deus Ex: Human Revolution style.

Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD ReMIX/Kingdom Hearts 3I love me some Kingdom Hearts and I loom forward to playing the final mix versions on the formal, for sure!

Persona 5If the story's as good as P3 as well as its overall gameplay as good as P4, I'll be more of a happy man than I will be when I get to play it on the PS4...

Persona QIt's Persona-related... Enough said...

Pokemon Omega RubyI thought about also getting Alpha Sapphire alongside it, but I'm not sure if I'm willing to go to my local Best Buy to do it, you know?

Super Smash Bros. for Wii UStill love the Smash Bros. series and, just like with the GameCube, I'm buying this game alongside a Wii U...

Other than the ones with both titles and [maybe] potential release dates, I'll take any future Star Fox game that will involve Arwing battles... That's basically all I need to know to assure me a Day-1 purchase hands down...
