Evolve.

The simple fact that is has been built from the ground up as a DLC platform causes me concern. Granted it isn't fair to pass judgement until we see how much actual content comes with the base game yet still concerned. If Evolve is a huge hit with the torrents of DLC planned (if it sells) as well as the possibility of very little in the base game we could see a trend towards making more games that way.

That idea frankly terrifies me.

Insert slew of other FPS games here etc etc.

Dragon Age Inquisition.
Because I know it's going to get good reviews (Because EA) and since I absolutely loved Origins and was fine with 2, a couple good reviews might convince me to actually play it and I know I'll be disappointed (Because EA)
.
if youre fine with 2 you might like it, now me I'm somewhat dreading the fan reaction...cause I'm not sure I can trust the reveiws on this one and I'm secretly hoping it will be good (given the attention their giving to thieir potential female lead)

on that same note

Mass Effect 4

Mirror's Edge 2. The first was and continues to be amazing fun to this day. However, everything I've seen and heard about the next one makes me wish they'd just gone with a new IP and sold the rights to Mirror's Edge to somebody who cares about it.

Pretty much all of them since the vast majority only let you play as guys, but there's a special place of loathing for Assasin's Creed Unity, and farcry 4.

At first I was like:
"How can I not look forward to a game I didn't even care to remember the name of?"
But, then I was like:
"Oh wait... After seeing some more gameplay-like footage, I'm not looking forward to The Crew or that Legend of Korra video game..."

Other than that, I mostly remember the names of games I'm looking forward to than the ones I'm not looking forward to, even if I keep hearing their names on gaming websites like Destiny or Unity... or Xbox One...

Oh wait...

Pretty much everything except Hyrule Warriors. It's the first game in a long time that I'm actually psyched for.

Man, there is not a whole lot I am specifically not looking forward to, but Destiny just looks more an more disappointing as time goes on.

I was excited for the 'next thing' from Bungie at first but I am not seeing anything to really get me interested in Destiny. I like the art direction and the PvE looks potentially interesting, but I have serious doubts whether they will actually have enough content beyond grinding for new weapons. The multiplayer doesn't look appealing in the slightest. The super attacks look they would get old really fast in a competitive multiplayer game and the whole idea of grinding for better guns seems at odds with making a fun and balanced multiplayer. That is on top of all the grumblings about the netcode.

You should see any Bioware related thread.

Wait wait wait: you've seen "I want to play this" comments? As in on this site!? Man, what version of the Escapist are you looking at?

But to add something vaguely meaningful, I'm not fussed about a fair few things; Destiny and Hyrule Warriors spring to mind. I don't hate them or their companies, I don't want them to fail to spite fans, they're just not up my alley when it comes to gaming.

Edit: Oh, I've just remembered something I'm genuinely not looking forward to (yes I'm aware of the irony) - the next Dead Island. I'm a bit disappointed they've decided to take the series down the goofy Dead Rising route.

Dragon Age 3 (or Inquisition or whatever). Mostly because I have no intention of playing it, and I just know that every gaming and/or social media website is going to be flooded with it.

The next 3d Zelda. Ok, I love the games to death, and I'm in the minority that think Skyward Sword is the best one so far. I'm cool with other opinions about each game, or those who don't play them and think they are stupid. I don't look forward to the inevitable arguments and name calling of fans over why the new game is amazing/terrible, and the months of pissing contests over which Zelda is the best. I like the franchise to, but people need to learn to allow others to enjoy whatever they want to. While other franchises have this, Zelda seems to be the worst offender. It also brings in a slew of people saying how it's an exact replica of OoT once again. I'll probably just need to avoid any threads or reviews of the game, or else I'm going to go insane from all the crap being thrown around.

Sorry about the small rant, but it just irritates me that people go around and try to claim that they know what the best games are, and look down at people because they like what he/she doesn't like. This seems to be a phase the gaming community is going through at the moment. I guess my answer can apply to all major game franchises that will be coming out in the next few years.

The Sims 4, mostly. EA may have neutralized my anger with the Sims 2 Free Bundle, but I'm still not gonna buy the new one unless it gets its own ultimate bundle on sale.

My first thought would be Dragon Age 3, but then I realized I am excited about it.

Admittedly its more of a bile fascination and wondering exactly how EA/ware will screw it up, but I am looking forward to it nonetheless.

The short answer is that there is no purpose whatsoever.

Extended answer being that they serve as somewhere to build up cred for how much you arent following the mainstream, and shit on things other people care about.

I mean, given the number of games released this holiday season, I imagine most of us are not looking forward to most of them. And by not looking forward to, I mean totally indifferent... but thats probably not in the spirit of this topic.

Every future Rockstar release. Their games just suck with poor writing, bad controls and boring-cheap gameworlds. They are only sucessfull because of the hype and them throwing tons of money to reviewers. Everyone who loves their games must be a tool.
I'm not looking for any new release. The tripple A industry doesn't deserve any trust same goes for artsy fartsy indie-guys. I rather stick to sitting in my basement and replaying a copy of GianaSisters on my C64. This industry will crash anyway, pc and console gaming is dead.

Assassin's Creed: Unity: No, this isn't about the whole gender debate that erupted around the game. I just have never been really invested in the series' gameplay, considering the platforming's engagement is only slightly greater than holding down the play button on a twenty hour movie, and its combat was probably even less engaging. All that the first game had going for it was the story, and AC2 fucked that up so bad I can't even remain invested in the story.

After that, there's nothing that I have absolutely no interest in. Actually, it sort of has my interest from the whole French Revolution setting, but if Black Flag couldn't bring me back with the pirate setting, nothing in the series can.
I second that. TotalBiscuit summed it up pretty well when he said how "you really have to go out of your way to challenge yourself in these games." Assassin's Creed games are a huge power fantasy romp, where I never feel like I'm in any danger. What's the point of a stealth game, where you don't feel remotely threatened by the guards? Heck, even if you choose to ignore stealth, what's the point of an action game, where you don't feel remotely challenged by the enemies?
