Games you've always wanted to play, but may never get the chance to.

Pretty much what the title says. What's a game you've always wanted to play, but due to age or cost may never get to?

Doing some browsing on steam, I came upon a new early access zombie game where you control the zombies. People in the forums mentioned Stubbs the Zombie. I remember seeing Stubbs the Zombie in Gamestop when I first got my PS2. I'd always wanted to play it, but sadly my Mom considered me too young to play them. After seeing it mentioned on Steam, I deicded to do some searching. I found a few physical copies on Amazon and of course a few you know what sites came up. I thought about buying it, when I learn the game is almost impossible to have run on modern graphics cards, I stopped my search. I've heard nothing but good things about that game, but due to circumstances, I may never get to play it.

So that's mine, what's your guy's games?

If it makes you feel any better Stubbs the Zombie was an Xbox title and you wouldn've have been able to run it on a PS2.

For myself it used to be the Cowboy Bebop game on the PS2 because it was never exported outside of Japan, let alone translated, until I found a copy and managed to play through it regardless of the language (I used a fan translation of the cutscenes I found on YouTube for reference, though I suppose being familiar with the series helped as well).

Hmm the only one I can think of is the Kirby rainbow curse game that was on the original DS. That looked really fun and I'm really glad I'll get the play the sequel they announce at E3.

Since picking up my Wii U & PS3 to go with the PC I already had I've found that basically every game I want to play comes out on one of those systems. The only game I can think of other than the rainbow curse one is probably Sunset Overdrive given that I have no plans of ever buying an Xbox One.

Probably the original Silent Hill & Resident Evil games, I was only young when they came out (like maybe 4-5 years old) so I never had the chance to play them in what could be considered their glory days.I do know you can pick up the remake of Resi 1 and Resi 0 on Gamecube so I may nab one of Ebay one day, and I suppose I could get the Silent Hill HD Collection, but that's only 2 & 3 I think.

In terms of newish games, probably Halo 5 and the Masterchief Collection as I'll probably never get an Xbox One.

Baldur's Gate 2.

I came SO close to playing that when it came out. I bought the game and was in the process of installing it but it was missing the last disc. So took it back but there were no copies left so decided to get another game instead. So many regrets. I know it's still available but I'm worried it will feel dated now and I won't enjoy it, like what happened for me with Morrowind.

I've also been wanting to play Windwaker for a while but never have. I missed out on the Gamecube/PS2 generation of consoles and haven't gotten any of the new consoles yet, still there's a probably little laziness on my part. Yes I know it'll work on Wii and I have one, but I don't have the controller or memory card, and it just seemed like too much hassle just to play one game. They rereleased it on Wii U but I'm not convinced about getting that in the near future so might just miss out on that game, unless the new Zelda game is as awesome as it looked in that snippet at E3.

There are a couple of import fighting games on the PS2 that I'm not sure I'll be able to play at all such as Capcom X Namco and, the Hokuto no Ken arcade fighter that was ported to the PS2. Aside from those though, there are a ton of arcade games that I KNOW I'll never be able to play. There's the Superman beat-em-up for one and I think there are also Terminator/Robocop beat-em-ups, a Punisher beat-em-up. There are a ton of Japanese arcade games that I might get to play if I ever make it to that part of the world but some that I probably already missed like the Silent Hill arcade game.

Original DS games aren't bad, because the 3DS can run DS games. Just find a used copy somewhere and voila!

As for mine, I've already played these games, but sometimes I want to go back but unfortunately it looks like I'll never be able to. The original Petz [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petz] games for the PC. It was simple: You have cats and dogs you adopt (spelled Catz and Dogz, of course), and you take care of them, play with them, breed them, have lots of fun with them. The later games had secondary pets you could get like pigs and bunnies, as well as items you unlock playing minigames.

I might try to install it on my new Windows 7 machine again, but I have a feeling it's not going to run. And the newest continuations of the series are creepy 3D things that actually have talking characters...and it's just not the same. And now I'm afraid if they ever do try to bring them back in the tradition of the classic games, they'd be laden down with microtransactions and paywalls and shit like that.

The glut of great adventure games in the mid to late 90s. Most notably the canon of Lucas Arts Adventure games and "The Neverhood". I feel as if I would have loved these games as a kid and would still enjoy them today but having never been a PC gamer I unfortunately had to miss out. It doesn't make the situation any better that the bulk of these titles are near impossible to access or run on modern computers. Thank god for that Grim Fandango remaster.

also - Tearaway looks like a novel and charming title but since I will likely never own a Vita, it's likely going to be a title I'll never play.

I've never gotten around to playing Pleanscape; Torment, despite hearing that it's the best game ever made my literally ever person on the planet.

I'd also like to finish off the Myst series some time, if I can ever find Myst 3 onwards to play.

Persona 4 and REmake.

These games are impossible to find. Once I actually did find REmake, but when I took the case to the counter the guy said 'Oh yeah sorry, we don't have that game anymore.' Grrrrrr!

Megaman Legends 3...

All joking aside, Tie Fighter, X-Fighter, the old lucas arts games, along with the older final fantasy or dragon quest games cause i seriously don't have the time to sink into them anymore.

The Persona series and by extension the Shin Megami Tensei franchise. I really want to play these games but I've never had a system to play it on. Right now all I have is a PC and the only Persona game that plays on it is the first game and I wouldn't even know where to get it. I could try emulation but it's a pain in the ass to get them working unless they're handhelds.

Also Silent Hill 2, love the story but never actually played it. similar to the reasons above.

Heretic II. I'm a huge fan of the first game, but the second one is on no digital distribution sites and my laptop's disc drive is busted, so even a retail copy wouldn't help me.

If you can get yourself a PSVita, you can play Persona 4: The Golden, it's essentially the same game with just some bonus content (New Dungeon, Additional Social Links).

But yeah i know how you feel about its rarity, i was lucky enough to get myself a copy, last copy my local game shop ever sold before it shut down.

Skies of Arcadia. I recently was able to buy a Dreamcast in mint condition. Now I need the game.

Persona 4 Golden and Danganronpa, because those aren't enough for me to justify buying a Vita. I've played the original Persona 4 and have been watching the Persona 4 Golden anime, though

Well, my main jonesing was for Shinobido, but I finally managed to get that working on an American PS2. So probably the old Thief games and maybe the original Hitman, as I never had a windows computer.

If you have a PS3 then both the original Silent Hill and Resident Evil games are available as PS1 classics.

OT: The Suikoden games, given their rarity and the fact that the EU PSN still doesn't have either of them.

Damn you, EU PSN!

For a while, I thought Shin Megami Tensei IV would be one of these, but it has an EU release date now (finally). I doubt that I'll ever get to play the original Devil Summoner or SMT If... though. Or the second Raidou Kuzonoha game.

Also, a massive amount of Japanese arcade games.
