More like there re-releasing a spin-off, but your point stands. and honestly is anyone surprised?SalamanderJoe said:Why are Square-enix making MMOs when Final Fantasy 7 needs to be milked in their afternoon schedule. (Not be sarcastic but they are making a 3DS FF7 spin-off)
But G.U. and Link both turned The World into something fun, by speeding it up.olicon said:What the game truly needs is a tag that says "not for the faint of heart".
While WoW caters to the mass, FFXIV is after its own audience. Is this a million dollar idea? I honestly can't say. But one thing for sure--this is how the game is meant to be.
I point you to The World in .//hack.
Can you notice some similarity?
Yeah..this thing is the Japanese' wet dream of an MMO. And frankly, I really like the idea as well.
Besides, it's the popular thing to bash FF nowadays. Every gaming outlet that bash FF since FF10 had their cred upped by 15 levels. Clearly that little trick is still working.
They are not really experienced in the mmo department. Their focus is on story driven experiences tailored to single players, this kind of focus really dosen't help them when they want to deliver the same experience as an mmo. As a result you get the sloppy mess that was FFXIV and no brand name is going to alleviate that. They really should just stick to single player jrpgs and just innovate on what they are good at before making suicidal leaps into the unknown.CmdrGoob said:A friend of mine got it, and sadly it really is a 4/10 game (or less). No joke, what the hell happened at Square Enix?! They're a very huge, very experienced dev company, how on earth could they shit on their biggest franchise with such a crappy game?
They took Link and GU and westernized them, not improving them.SpaceMedarotterX said:But G.U. and Link both turned The World into something fun, by speeding it up.olicon said:What the game truly needs is a tag that says "not for the faint of heart".

Do you have anything to back any of this up?Sir John the Net Knight said:The game wasn't for me, and it wasn't for a lot of people. Because it's not fun.
Thats an opinion... >.> People aren't realizing anything, this game sucked becuase they choose a lot of bad desecions, restricting player exp, amount of quests they can do, slow combat...RUINER ACTUAL said:Hey, people are.realizing that pointy haired kids swinging physics defying swords in prerendered cutscenes suck! I do like Gamespot reviews over others, i think they are more acurate.
What audience is that? The audience of people who like unusable laggy interfaces and copy and pasted terrain but hate content and being able to trade without hours of searching? It isn't aiming for some niche audience - it's just broken and unfinished.olicon said:What the game truly needs is a tag that says "not for the faint of heart".

How dense are you? Metacritic posts nothing but facts - scores and links to reviews of other places. It says nothing by itself, it aggregates. It's obvious you do never pay attention to Metacritic though, otherwise you wouldn't be spewing bullshit like that.Sir John the Net Knight said:First and foremost, I NEVER pay attention to metacritic. Metacritic says a lot of shit that turns out to be pretty much dead wrong.
It's 15 parts all of 10-20 minutes. It is hilarious when they start to despair and the guy playing is completely oblivious to what to do, cause the game is just that dense.Karim Saad said:How long is that video? After 25 min., I can't stand it anymore. The Madman said:Watched the gameplay and commentary by 'Yogscast' and I can honestly say it was one of the most strange and terrifying things I have ever seen. I honestly can't see any appeal with the game whatsoever; The characters looks ridiculous, the setting is stupid, the gameplay boring, and the art design... erm... scary! Very pretty though, I guess I can give it that.
Watch for yourself if you don't believe me.
And yet I'm absolutely certain there will be those who defend the game to the death... Good for them I guess but I just don't understand, I really don't.![]()
Let's just wait for the dishonest review from IGNGamerRelic said:This is a long overdue present. I forgive you gamestop. You get the guest room today instead of the floor.:/CmdrGoob said:Heh. It will be interesting to see which reviewers just slap an 8/10 on any hyped big name franchise no matter how much it sucks and which are honest enough to give FFXIV a score that it's flaws deserve. I'm surprised Gamespot gave an honest review.Lolth17 said:Gamespot gives AAA games scores lower than an 8? Know this, I did not. /star wars themed sarcasm
