Gamespy closes their doors

This came out of nowhere personally for me, what do you guys and gals think?

As a kid who grew up in the third world, I never used Gamespy because all the Internet cafes I've played in were running pirated PC games.

I find it hard to sympathize, especially programs like Steam do their job better. Gamespy is just like Friendster(Still remember that?) and Myspace, they got the idea first, it's just that someone ended up(Facebook) doing their job better than them.

Sucks for games that used the service. However, if that service wasn't shit, I might have shed a tear. But it was awful.

 

[Atmos Duality]

I remember when it was called "QuakeSpy", since its original function was to create a sort of telephone directory for Quake servers.

Honestly, I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did.
