no i don't have an article, like the title says..but my buddy got a copy of CoD: Modern Warfare 2 a few days ago and has already beat the game, he bout it from GameStop..this poses an issue, because MW2 is a street date game, meaningon the case it will have at least 1 sticker telling a street date, and if not, then the boxes they are shipped in will, if a company does not uphold this street date they can be sued and in extreme cases shut down, i personally think they deserved to be sued for that, what do you guys think?

Hi, Gamestop employee here. Certain districts in New York and Idaho were given the go ahead to start selling today (Sunday, Nov 8th.) And to my knowledge a few other districts scattered around were given the same all clear BY INFINITY WARD. As far as a few days ago.. that would be breaking street date. Because, yes, we have had the copies for about a week now. Whoever did it will most likely be promptly fired, and Gamestop will suffer a fine. Breaking of street date is much more common than most people think, although it usually happens to big stores, such as Walmart, Target, etc. because the people who work in the electronics sections there often have very little real knowledge of electronics.

Thats kinda scary.... are gamespot watching us and taking notes? - I mean that was a quick response... wtf.

Edit: if you can sue them, then go for it. More power to digital distribution.

Hah, no, I just happened to stumble on this thread... Not ALL Gamestop employees are evil bastards. That's just the corporate office. Maybe they should take notes, then they might stop charging such ridiculous amounts for used games.

EDIT: Also, hooray for digital distribution.

It does if you read that part about the Employee selling it getting fired.

With a game this anticipated some date busting was inevitable, but it's also inevitable that Loss Prevention is going to be paying VERY close attention.
