I might see if they're willing to take my iPod touch that has a faulty headphone jack. I'd imagine they have a means to fix it.

Used for skeet-shooting? I'd watch that :p

Odd move by Gamestop tbh...and I'm curious too see how much you can get for an old ipod.
I agree with the skeet-shooting. Down with Apple!

I wonder how much my 16GB iPod Touch will go for.

GameStop: Now you can trade in your overpriced $600 gadget for $12 worth of store credit. REJOICE!

"Did you know that GameStop now buys your old iPod, iPhone and iPad devices? Trade them in at GameStop for in-store credit. Perfect for trading toward games, accessories, systems and more. Bring in your old iPod or iPad and a Game Advisor can assist you. Plus, you'll score PowerUp Rewards points on every item traded."

That is the most hilarious part ever. "Game Advisor". Really? Gamestop employees know less about games than that of a Walmart electronics section employee.

But alas, we'll go over the basic info that this is another way to expand their money intake on a crumbling brick-n-mortar store system where nobody wants to buy from them anymore.

And, I highly, HIGHLY doubt that they're going to pay more than 50% of what you could get trying to sell it yourself at a garage sale, eBay, Craig's List, and so on.

Hunh, next time im home im going to have to ask my friend what they're doing with them.

Of course the manager of the gamestop I go to when Im home is staunchly PC, so he'd probably let us use them to destroy them if they're not doing something importnat to company with them. And it seems a nice way to get a quick turn over on cash/credit for games. Sure, what they give will be low, but i think what they're thinking is that people will have enough of these things just laying around since apple comes out with a new one all the time, so the quantity will be more then the quality.

Im speculating here but..

Im pretty sure they buy it from you at like, 10-15% of the cost (if event that much), refurbish/clean it a bit, sell it back at nearly full price in china/india or by some other mean.

Pure profit that people litteraly give to them willingly.

Ya know.. standart procedure for them.

I took my husband's old iPhone 3GS (16g) to Gamestop today because it has been gathering dust in a drawer for over a year and I wanted to get the kids new games for Christmas.

I got $195 store credit for it.

It was great! I bought all the games I wanted and I still have $35 left on my Gamestop powerpass.

Just saying!
