Gametrailers.com member having problems need help

Sorry the only reason why i'm asking this in the Escapist Forums is because Gametrailers.com is also run by defy media now just like the Escapist is.

anyway so today my account on Gametrailers was permabanned. so i then proceeded to make a new account which seemed to go fine.

however now when i try to post in the forums section there it keeps telling me my post's were successful, when really they actually weren't as my posts aren't showing up in the forums at all.

does any forum member or mod here have an idea of what might be happening as i can't contact the site because of this problem.

Your IP address has been shadow banned, meaning any account you make will be automatically marked. Same thing happened to me on YouTube.

but on Gametrailers.com there have only been 3 types of bans, at least until now that i am aware of:
-regular bans
-permanent bans
-IP bans

and i doubt i have been IP banned because why is it letting me create new accounts if that is the case?

to ad to that, i even unplugged and replugged in my router eventually when it kept on not working if it was an IP ban which should have reset my IP address?

Dodging bans is generally frowned upon. They banned you for a reason and you should try appealing the ban if you think you were banned unjustly. Otherwise post someplace else.

but that's the thing though, i've been a member on Gametrailers since 2008 and ever since then the rules have been that if you get a permaban you're free to make a new account, it's simply just dodging regular bans that will get you in trouble.

i haven't dodged a regular ban, but have just made a new account after a permaban. this has been ok up until now if things have changed?

oh and btw, appealing bans NEVER works on GT. i don't think i've ever heard of a mod there undoing a ban. it's always just been don't dodge regular bans, or set up a new account should your current account be permabanned.

appealing a ban especially doesn't work now after the forum redesign last year where they now stupidly have a page come that doesn't even let you view the forums or even your messages, let alone send a mod a message when you have been banned.

it simply forces you to sign out of your account now with the only thing your account being able to do is post in video comments, just not forums.

Doesn't that defeat the entire purpose of a "permanent" ban? Because if you make a new account, technically the ban is not "permanent".

well actually back in like 2008, Gametrailers.com used to have a ranking system which was simply badge next to your name telling you and other users what rank you were and how many post's you've made. you earned points to gain rank badges just by posting, blogging and watching videos.

if you got yourself a permanent ban back then, your entire rank would be gone and you would no longer show off your badges to the community because you would have to make a new account.

that ranking system is gone now but the same permanent ban method has remained in place, if you get permabanned you just create a new account.

with that though, mods keep a closer eye on you with every ban and perma ban you add up.


also it simply meant that that account was banned permanently. IP bans is where you can't make any accounts on that site again
