Hello and thanks for the welcome! I'm a 21 year old little boy from Sweden and I came here because other people from GT came here, it looks like the GT forums and apparently I already have an account here for some reason I can't remember.

I appreciate an influx of refugees, though the loss of their home saddens me. Still I'm happy we can get more people here, considering there's plenty of room after the mass exodus a certain nontroversy caused.

Call me cynical, but GT was dying anyway and this forum was in dire need of some more traffic. So, to me, it seems like it was in Defy's best interest to consolidate their gaming forum userbase onto one site. Makes sense.

Like, not having a go at you, it's just I've never, ever understood the whole 'I don't like people or want to make friends, so I'm going to interact with people constantly' thing that people keep doing on the internet. Is it like one of those Arachnophobia things where if you keep handling the thing you don't like you'll get over your dislike and start liking it?

Yeah, it's still around, though I've never understood the weird reputation people give it. There's a lot of '3edgy5me' people there who think being a dickhead is 'cool', but some of the boards had people who weren't shitheads, who were alright to hang around.

I hung out there - mostly in /tg - for ages, but everyone I used to talk to moved on to greener pastures or stopped visiting, so I figured I'd bail as well. 8chan is full of people I hate and Reddit is either dead or Edgy, so I came here because I remembered Jim (motherfucking) Sterling used to contribute here and figured it'd be worth a look.

I've not been here long myself, and I'm not as active as I'd like to be. I still welcome any newcomers, I've found this to be a good place to lurk, and occasionally post. There are some loud complainers, but almost everyone seems to be having a good time, and it's easy to avoid the bad patch.

Honestly I really like a lot of them and you want to know why? They talk about video games and movies and entertainment and don't yell at you for disagreeing with them, don't straw men you and are pretty friendly and stay far away from the gender politics threads.

There was a thread talking about Nintendo direct and was one the nicest threads I read in awhile. So I welcome the refugees.

Sorry, I should have said Real Life People. The thing is, on the internet I have absolute control over if I want to interact, for me you are all just words, if that makes sense, I decide if and when I listen to you, I decide if and when I talk to you, and if I'm sick of interaction I can leave whenever I want and come back whenever I want.
The contempt thing is a generalization of mankind as a whole, there are of course people I like and respect, several game devs like Takaki or Kamiya and their teams or Youtubers like Sargon of Akkad, Thunderf00t, raocow or NakaTeleeli, my only RL friend I know since childhood, my mom and dad and my brother, but the vast majority of strangers on the streets, celebrities, politicians, and of course SJWs can kinda go to detroit for all I care.

I actually prefer 4chan in some ways. I mean half of /vp/ devolved into an autistic mess earlier in the week, but I can appreciate how they didn't skirt around their disdain for people with different opinions.
