I heard somewhere(maybe here) that playing xbox live causes young teens and men to release a series of chemicals that is the basic male equivalent of pms.

The rageful shrieking of American teenagers in post-match Gears of War 2 last night seems to correlate your claims.

I know winning can release Testosterone.

But I haven't heard of PMS in men caused by video games. Men may experience simular symptoms but I don't think games are a trigger.

ummm I'm no doctor but I'm pretty sure PMS is caused by hormone changes over the month. And it's symptoms include more then just your BP spike.

I think your refering to spikes in Adrenaline. When stressed the body increases production of this hormone. Read up on the flight of fight response below...

Interesting thing is that my parents often try and remove my xbox because they believe to have an addiction, now at 17 they've kind of given up, but what I find interesting is that I do experience "withdrawal" symptoms, not from a lack of playing my xbox, but when they resorted to removing the modem. When I lost my ability to talk, not only, to my XBL friends, but lost my msn, myspace, facebook, forumsand everything which requires internet to work. That was when I began to climb the walls, it got to the point where I racked up a $1700 phone bill on txts, calls and internet use (I have an iPhone) and my parents finally gave in and returned the modem. But it got me thinking, I'm not addicted to my xbox, what I need (when I am at home, when I'm out I don't need it at all) is the ability to communicate with my friends, even if I don't use it and just let it sit there I feel better having it on.

I don't think it's a need to socialize (I do plenty of that without internet), I think that I just need to have the internet on when I am at home, I need to know that I have access.
