Gaming and Overclocking

I've recently gotten a new PC I plan to use for gaming. It's decent for what I paid for it. Didn't build my own, but I plan to upgrade this one.. right after the warranty runs out. Planning to get this:
Sapphire HD 6770

Currently, I've got this: ATI Radeon HD 4200

It chokes on Metro 2033, and after slamming everything down to minimum specs, it can chug along nicely but again, chokes whenever a gun is fired or if I'm on the surface areas.
Quad-core processor running at 3.2 GHz, so I'm assuming it isn't lack of power on that end. It isn't overloaded with crap, either - cleaned up all the bloatware and such the first day.
So I wanted to take a look at overclocking.

I can't buy the Sapphire at the moment, but I will eventually. Anyone have any guidance on overclocking the 4200? Will it void whatever warranty I have? What sort of performance spike might I be looking at, and what should I watch out for if/when I overclock it?

I'll be using Metro 2033 as a benchmark..

AMD Athlon II X4 650 Processor.
Media card for watching films then.. alright. So an upgrade is essential?

Yeah if you want to game, try a 5800 series. The 70 to be precise.

Or a 560Ti if you want bang for buck.

Or do what I did and get dual 580's. BECAUSE POWER!

Yea, but those are pretty expensive ( To me ).. not that I wouldn't jump at the chance, but hey. I'll look into an upgrade then, if it's possible. Maybe a hand-me-down.. >.>

What tool would I use to overclock the card, just in case?

The HD 4200 isn't even a graphics card, it is an integrated graphics chip built into the motherboard. It is designed to run 2D applications and playback video, it isn't capable of any real gaming and no overclock will change that. Be advise that if this is a prebuilt with integrated graphics, it probably has a really weak power supply, probably something like 250 Watts. You'll probably have to get a better power supply if you want a decent video card.

You'll defs need a better PSU if you overclock a card you're upgrading to from integrated. You'll likely need a new PC.

I went from a Radeon HD 2600Xt which struggled with everything just ran crysis 2 on low then upgraded to 6750 and now I run skyrim on high no problems I love it and it was only £80 best money I have ever spend on video game related things
