Ok so yeah in brisbane aus where i originaly come from there are places called up-time one called the bunker in the city and a new one called mana bar (yes the one yahtzee is starting) i was just wondering if any one knows of anything of its like in london? Furthermore i was wondering as to peoples opinions on these since when i brought it up to some friends at work who are into gaming they said it sounded like one of the sadest things theyd ever heard, but ive never thought of it that way, any way what do you think and please name any you know of in london.

I know there is one in Japan where most of the big shots in the gaming industry goes to on a weekly basis.

But I think it's a great idea, really.
As long as you keep it "party games", and not puzzle games or something.
I imagine that would be hard to play while drunk
rofl yeah see thats what i think >:{ my co-workers must be strange but yeah i just need one in london :D coz yeah its a good place to meet friends who are into gaming.

Well, no I don't.

Although after I went to a friends house and had a massive tournament, I think it's an awesome idea.

I wish we could get places like that here in Winnipeg, it would probably be my sole reason for getting out of the house and socializing with complete strangers.

... Actually, I don't like people vomiting on me while I'm gaming so I think I'll just buy some coolers and game at home.

... must ..... avoid .... Winnipeg.... joke.....

Anyway, I don't know of any here in Toronto, but I'm not old enough to drink yet, so the point may be lost on me.
However, I hope there is a gaming bar close to the university I want to go to (seeing as how I want to go there for game development).

Hehe I was just shocked to see someone else from Winnipeg posting on here.

But as to the topic at hand, I think it's an interesting idea but it would really depend on just how it was done. I know there are a bunch of internet cafes that have gaming consoles set up, and even my local movie theatre has the ability to book gaming time on one of the big screens, but combining a bar with a gaming set-up is fairly new to me too.

Yeah im after bars or dens that do either computers or consoles im just after somewhere to meet video gamers irl as opposed to online, new to the city need some gamer friends to do movies etc with and also coz i will want to move out in the not too distant future and yeah, the bunker was something of a pillar in my social life, they didnt sell booze but it was a good place to go have a big lan with a bunch of people. meh just dont know if i can be bothered to go and find one by walking around on my days off, which is why i reach out to escapist in the hope of finding an answere :p

I've been to exactly one in my life.

I couldn't get past the door before they were nagging me to buy subscriptions and drink their BAWLS.

Seriously, never went back.

I was little when that happened. It's not my fault that our mayor was a dumbass.
I'd like to head out to Winnipeg one day though, to try multiple things.
To see if I can really see Alberta from a tall structure.
To see if it really is negative forty when you guys get rid of your mosquitoes.

Take all of that in jest, though. I'd actually like to see Winnipeg one day.

Don't worry, I was only joking around about the army thing.

1. Probably not. While Manitoba is pretty much as flat as you can get, Saskatchewan actually has hills. O_O Or at least, in one part of the province. So if you find your view of Alberta obscured, blame Saskatchewan.
2. I only wish they were killed off when it hits -40. Unfortunately, they only hide until the summer when it sometimes gets blistering hot. We've had kind of a mild winter so far so I'm probably going to be eaten alive. Apparently, they like A+.
