Gaming breaks

When you are playing a game how often do you feel the need to take a break? Even if it is just a few minutes. I typically take a break every hour or so. I sometimes get sort of restless during extended gaming sessions.

Although it also depends on the game. If I am fully absorbed in it I will play hours on end.

Often after playing for hours and finally reaching a major goal, ill call it quits for a while. It really depends on how good the game is. Better ones hold me longer. Then theres games like mass effect 3 which I deliberately paced myself to savor the game as long as I could.

Depends on the game. Some I can play for hours, others leave me tense and so roughly every 45-60 minutes I spend a a bit of time doing something else.

I'm a smoker, so I typically take a 5 minute break about once an hour. Though for some games I'll wait longer. I can measure a games addictiveness by how long it keeps me away from the naughty sticks.

Same. Usually after an hour of play I just don't feel like playing any more for a few minutes. I just stop and gather my thoughts, sometimes get something to drink or eat. That's good, because it means I never get tired or overexerted while gaming.

I played Fallout New Vegas until my friends got me on skype and asked me if I was okay as I hadn't spoken to them for a week...

I'm pretty bad like that lol.

My brain and eyes start to hurt around the 3 hour mark. I'm usually not playing for that long though.

Occaisonally I take breaks to sleep or go to work. Eating is an issue though and this is where the japanese are so far ahead of us; with chopsticks you can eat a full meal with only one hand. Genius.

Games are brilliant.

Depends from games usually. But lately I have so much work for school to do that when I have a day off and no socializing to do I game for hours.

Though my longest gaming session was 2 days straight on Oblivion when it first came out with occasional bathroom breaks etc... I felt sick after that.

Now I just can't play all nighters anymore....

An hour or two, give or take an hour or two. I don't really know to be honest, but I know the only game I get engrossed in these days is TF2, I could play that game for hours and just lose track of time, unless I keep losing.

I never really feel the need to take a break. I normally stop when I have to go or I get bored. I can go for hours just trying really hard missions until I get them. I think my record was almost 12 hours when I first got Minecraft, only stopping to eat once. It was one of my greater gaming experiences.

It depends on the game and how I feel. If I've eaten and got my eigth hours of sleep, than I can play games for over 12 hours.

Well I usually play games as my break from something else, but when I do sit down with the express intent of losing an evening then this...

I usually take 5-10 minute smoke breaks at least once an hour. If i'm out of smokes though I can stay there forever but I usually stop when I feel swamp ass coming on.


edit: Longest I've ever played was 10 hours while my guild was progressing through the last bosses of Ulduar. Like, 5 hours on Yogg Saron. Damn

I usually get up every 30 minutes to an hour to use the bathroom and/or get something to drink. My longest session ever was 12 hours straight at a LAN party (6PM to 6AM, free pizza and mountain dew, what more can you want? ) But a typical session for me is more like 30 minutes to two hours, so I'm not exactly sitting at the computer all day, only getting up to eat, drink, and excrete.
