Gaming conventions and you

Hey fellow Escapists just wondering how many of you actually attend gaming conventions, I personally went to the Gamescom in Leibzig and am planning on going to magfest later this year, how about you guys and girls.

I don't attend gaming conventions, I don't like lines.

I go to San Diego Comic Con every year, but that's more of a multi-geekdom convention (I go partly for the gaming, partly for the anime).

I'm too small and they all seem to be far away...

And I SERIOUSLY want to go to Mag fest, Renard his showing off his finest Techno. =[

I've been to several. One of my good friends is actually the founder of OMG!Con in Paducah Kentucky.

I haven't been to one, but I would like to, at least once.

Never been, but want to. Nothing beats a crowded, hot convention space that smells like sweat, plastic, and virginity. That's something that needs to be experienced in person.

None are anywhere near me... the closest I've been to is a car show thingy that had previews of Motorstorm: Pacific Rift and Gran Turismo 5...

Been to a Blizzard Invitational myself (as spectator, mind you, not as player - I'm not that hardcore) though aside from that I haven't done much in that world.

I live in the forgotten and frost bitten lands of Minnesota, where - to my knowledge - no such conventions come about. Which is awful because there is a spot that would be perfect and Minnesota is basically an untapped market for this kind of thing.

If I had the money or collateral I would set up a convention here. I also hate how Minnesota is ignored for everything, but what can ya do when you live in a shoe and ain't got no sole?

I go to PAX every year. Two years ago I got to go with my friends, and that was great, but this year they couldn't make it, but I was still there. I recommend PAX to anyone on the West Coast.

All the good conventions are either in California or in some other country, and I'm living on the opposite coast, I would never see a good convention.

MAGFest is going to be totally awesome this year, renard will be spinning some stuff, there will be 12 video game cover bands, There Will Be Brawl, sid meier, jon st. john (duke nukem voice) and more.
