The only unspoken gaming rule I can think of is that being accused of cheating, hacking or other forms of noobery (when none has been committed) is the highest compliment in an online gaming environment.

One of the things I will never do in a multiplayer game is spawn camping. It seems like the quickest way to guarantee nobody on the other team has fun and you won't either since you're just mowing down people through the use of a cheap strategy. I may do things that could be considered spawn camping by some, but never something that deliberately aims to keep the enemy permanently locked inside of their spawn. It's no fun for them and I don't enjoy doing it either.

I can't think of any games that actually have a rule against spawn camping so I would say that this is an unspoken rule. It's just one of those things you don't do because you're not an asshole. It's just unfortunate that there is always the occasional jerk that gets other people to go along with his idea to ruin the fun for everyone else.

Well teamkillers are ultimately hated. Other than that not much really.

I love the people who get shunned because they blame their teams for losing the game when they ones that cost the team the game. However in the end the only rules are those implemented by the game, the mods, and the final rule: Kill or be killed.

Really? One of the big ones is spelling "Gaming" right :p I mean, it's right there on the Board title...

Also: If someone tells you to stop doing something in text chat, then says it by mic, then says "Final warning, stop", you're better off stopping. Why? Because that person is an admin, and they've given all the notice they need to give before they start wrathing your ass.

In Battlefield 1943 you don't get points for killing people on their aircraft carrier.

You see, I've always taken offence to that...but now you put it that way, I have a lot to think about.

On topic, all I can say is...quoted for truth.

No healing items. Depends on the type of game I'm playing. Games that fall into the no healing (items) category are Devil May Cry, Ninja Gaiden, Mega Man, and pretty much any RPG, especially ones where you can stock up on 9999 healing potions and own everything that doesn't kill you in one hit.

Resident Evil, I'll use sprays/herbs for, considering that they're very limited and there's no way to heal without them. Also Beat-em-ups, FPS's, and anything where healing items are a "use it by stepping on it" affair.

An exception to the rule is Diablo, seeing as how the melee combat consists entirely of trading blows, and it's impossible to not get hit.

Except when it is hilarious.
Except that it's never hilarious. Never. Teamkillers go to the tenth circle of hell you know.

You not played the living dead playlist on Halo

Funniest thing to do is find the camping spot and just 'nade it and what the kills get racked up by zombies.

OT: Perhaps spoiling game endings through any means, or point stealing in games like CTF

If you think it's funny it probably because you're a hell spawn and have no soul, real people kill their enemies, not their allies.

Campers are not my allies, they are the bane of my life, betrayal does not apply tocampers as far as I am concerned

As mentioned spawn camping is not cool. A push back to the spawn point in a control point or payload map is a touchy subject...but in death match and capture the flag, it's a no-go.
