Everyone has games that they hate, and everyone loves to hate something, but why?
Sure, there's games that just aren't somebody's cuppa tea, but even I am not a huge fan of sports games and I detest games like Call of Duty 5 and Halo 2 and would gladly spew my bile on them at any given opportunity, but also as gamers there's always games that we love. I love Baldur's Gate, Knights of the Old Republic, Call of Duty 4, and Red Alert 2 and many other games, but in all three of those games as much as I love them, I can probably find something about each of them that I really hate and loathe.
Point is, do we, as a majority say we love games because we prefer them over other games of the era and genre, or because we really do love them? Why don't you take your favourite game. Your favourite game ever. Doesn't matter whether it was on the Atari 2600 or barely hot off the shelves, just pick a game you love, and then just give me a list of things you hate about it.
If I were to list the things that I hate about Baldur's Gate, then definitely the 2nd Edition AD&D ruleset which I find, compared to 3rd in Icewind Dale II, a highly limiting system.
I also hate every single robed monk in Candlekeep.
Then there's the uneven Leveling system that results in Mages only being effective past Level 5, or 20,000 Experience points, whereas classes like Thieves and Fighters are more or less effective from the bat and have a lesser Experience Point bar.
Bandits are also high on my list of hating things, as they always make mincemeat out of (not so) poor Garrick...
