I have to write up a project on the history of something for History class (shocking, I know) so I decided to do the project on the history of gaming and I was thinking of writing about games that really changed the media outlet starting with Pong and ending with Halo. I was wondering if any of you guys have any ideas that could help me with my project or just general guidelines to my project?

I have a hilariously huge post about writing floating off in Off-Topic if you want writing tips, but as far as the video game history, there are numerous articles, news broadcasts, and more on the subject. In my experience, the books Power-Up: How Japanese Video Games Gave the World an Extra Life and Game Over: The Maturing of Mario are a good starting place.

You should generalize it and focus on one topic to make it easier to reserach, like the history of Nintendo. It's quite interesting, they started out making playing cards and at one point ran a chain of prostitution hotels
