We are all gamers here (we are gamers right?) so gaming has affected all our lives rights? So when you were young how did video games affect you're life? and what videogame affected it? What kind of twisted world would you be in if videogames weren't invented or if you never played videogames?
Video games affected me in a good way. I found a way to release stress (when I was young) from bullies at school. As I got older it became a way to meet friends (without actually meeting them) and an outlet for the stress I receive at work.

So my fellow escapists...how has it affected you?

P.S. how is this bad?

personally i had more conversation starters with my mates or people i wouldnt normally talk to, it's given me a greater awareness of what goes on around the world, and it's posed sorts of deep questions. It's a good thing because it gives me something to do when i'm bored, and a sort of hobby.

Games have kept my stress level at -4 so my teachers are often complaining that I don't work or study hard enough. And I just block them out and think about the game I'm was playing 12 hours ago.

Well, aside from helping me to ruin my sleep patterns, if anything games give me something to fall back on when I just want to chill out. And I suppose if I went to a college that wasn't a crappy small town community college, and I'd have something to talk to people with that doesn't revolve around politics or America's Got Talent.

The first game I ever played was deadly tides, it came on 8(!) CD-ROMs and started my love affair with Vidya gaymes (King of the Hill reference) and ever since it has taught me friggin epic fighting moves against bullies (fight master Camp3r!)

I've always loved books and movies: anything that tells a story. Video games have opened my eyes to a new dimension of storytelling that I didn't even know was possible before. Interactive storytelling is the future, and I love each new release that supports it. Games as art, as a storytelling medium, is the concept that drives me to get into the industry.

When I was younger, they stopped me doing homework a little bit, but now they keep me entertained while i'm unsustainably unemployed (I have 4 jobs, but it's all casual work).
Full-time would be a blessing. Still looking.
For me, it's like reading a book (if the story is great). It's how i wind down and relieve stress.

Gaming is great for releasing stress, gta4 at the moment is my favourite stress release. Its the rocket launcher haha. Also in online games such as World of warcraft i've made friends. Can't think of anything else hmmm...

I have started so many new friendships because of my love for video games, the beginnings of which is normally " holy shit dude is that a sephiroth tattoo"
