The main difference I see between this and Uncharted is that this game actually looks fun.

Uncharted (1, 2, or 3) was complete shit, both in terms of combat AND platforming. I'd take the 2008 Prince of Persia (and I loathe that game) over Uncharted.

I doubt I'll drop the full price for this new, untested IP, because the controls could end up being janky and it could end up being a really short campaign, but to say that it's copying off of Uncharted is pretty stupid to say the least.

...But your thread title has nothing at all to do with the topic. Gaming culture exists just as much as football or baseball culture exists.

What? People hating on a game before it's release has nothing to do with whether gaming is a "culture" or not. And people are saying the game is a rip off of Uncharted because it does what it does in a very similar way to how Uncharted did it, not because it's the same genre. Uncharted made that cinematic and very linear style of platforming popular in this generation. I guess you could say Prince of Persia did it first, but Uncharted seems to the the one that everyone is trying to emulate right now. Either way, idiots hating on a game they haven't played has nothing to do with the issue of "gamer culture".

Gaming needs more negativity and less anger. Too many people trying to be super optimistic about gaudy tat and getting filled with impotent fury when anyone points out that the emperor is not wearing any clothes. All of these yellow culturenaughts who try to create an impression of a storm of anger happening about every little thing that isn't mindless fawning are more part of the problem.

As for gaming being a "culture" then a culture that sees something like that game and decides that nothing negative can be said is nothing that I want to be a part of.

Well, to be frank, I was going to suggest that first but it didn't express "horrific confusion" very well. At least not the confusion part.
