Gaming Laptop Recommendations?

Hello Escapist!

Today I'm looking for a gaming laptop, you see, I'm going off to college in a few days. And I decided not to take my gaming PC to my apartment (I'd probably be too distracted among other reasons.) Long story short, I want to buy a laptop, that can also let me game a bit on it.

For specs most things are fine, as long as it has an independent video card.

My price range is between 500$ and 1000$ probably.

I checked these two:

They both look great.

TL;DR: Need Gaming laptop, 500$-1000$ price range.

If there's anything on a sale or something like that it'd be awesome if you could share it!

Never buy Alienware. For what it's worth Dell is overcharging you for the label, and most likely, the pretty looks.

Thousand bucks? Easy. Go with the G73:

Gotta agree with this, but the laptop Tortoise posted is good if you must buy a gaming laptop.

And I already have a tower rig, a really good one at that. I just want a laptop for my apartment.

Also look into Sager's line of laptops. Asus G series and Sagers are the only laptops I'd recommend for gaming.
