laptop gaming seems foolish to me.

you'll spend 2000 dollars on a machine, whereas a similarly spec'd desktop is 900.

Ive have played soem games on a laptop and tbh it isnt that bad. I dont know why ppl are so negative. Its all about your lifestyle. Obviously if you travel-move alot or for whatever reason dont stay at home a laptop is a good solution.
I even play wow on my laptop and tho it tickles me with the 17 inch screen its still easy n convenient :>
but yes a powerfull laptop is pretty expensive and you do have to put up with weight. Its all about your lifestyle.

Gah! Kill it with fire!
Cheap laptop, spend the rest on a tough PC.

You'll get a lot more mileage for your dollar.

You can game on a laptop-- for instance, anno 1404 requires only stylus control, and is perfect for my convertable tablet.

ON the other hand, you must have a sep. keyboard and mouse for FPSes like portal.

Laptops are expensive per unit of performance . They are there to be portable. Game at home and play on your netbook.

+1. Netbook+desktop gives a good combo of performance and portability, and is still a good bit cheaper than a capable gaming laptop. If you're seriously worried about hallmates looking askance at your desktop, get an unobtrusive microATX PC, hide it, and run the HDMI out to a TV.

In the event that you're dead set on a gaming laptop, the ASUS G51 [http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220605] is well-received, nicely outfitted, and not hideously expensive ($1500 US). To echo the rest of the thread, the battery life is awful.

he's a gaming fag category and my social life is too imprtant to me.
Welcome to The Escapist.

Place of escapism for "gaming fags"!
I'm a gaming fag in disguise as a not gaming fag. I do rowing, clubbing, the lot.
So what if you have a desktop?

Who cares what other people think?
