I'll actually have to say Street Fighter 4. It was good and all, but It just didn't give me the satisfaction I was looking for. Here's to hoping for MvC3.

Also: [PROTOTYPE]. It was fun for a while, but everything eventually slowed down and it got incredibly repetitive.

Every Halo and Call of Duty game I've played (i.e. since CoD4 and Halo 1) are utterly average. I'd probably say InFamous too but it tips more toward the "bad" side of games.
a come on infamous was original and fun.

Lots of NES/SNES era platformers fall into this category, a lot of them are just lesser Mario Bros.

In terms of recent games, Medal of Honour: Rising Sun I thought was pretty mediocre all round. I found Lost Planet fairly generic and average too.

Everything I've ever played from Valve, except Team Fortress Two, even then that got old once my friends stopped playing it.

Call of Duty's, GTA, Bioshock, The halo's got old pretty quick...so did Rock Band. The list goes on.
your just picking popular stuff, some of those games are brilliant and im curious to see whwhat games you like.

p.s. are you joking?in serious and just wondering.

Bioshock and/or God of war 2
There's nothing particularly broken about them, they're just dull.

I had to like how Bad Company Two completely ignored the first games ending. What happened to the gold? Didn't the U.S. officially disown them? Then again CoD6 was just hit brain bending levels of stupid from start to finish. Halo was just dull until I got about the third quarter. The same room kept repeating so hard I almost fell asleep. Not to mention the lack of variety in the weapons and enemies.

im just saying this to clarify everything, meh games aren't overated game e.g. halo 2,and gta 4
those are 'good'(although just good games),and an een worse thing is to say a not overrated game but then because it was so good becoming kinda overated,i find it completely outragous that anyone would call bioshock "dull"/"meh".also not a bad game e.g. bionic comando ,here is a scale for you:
overrated but (very)good:portal,overated but meh:halo 3,terrible but accepted:spore
good:grim fandango,meh:mmedal of honour vangaurd,terrible:ET(nes)
.games that sell well, usaully sell well for a good reason.

i hope that clears everything up

Call of Duty, Little Big Planet, Final Fantasy XII, Guitar Hero: World Tour. They're all just so... bleh, y'know? THey're not awful, but there's really nothing to get excited about them, either.

So...I can't dislike popular games? I was unaware that was against the rules.

All the games I listed are very "meh". I've been told many times that my opinions are "bad" or other more forceful words.

I like Fallout 3, Mass Effect Series, stuff like that. If the story doesn't interest me I can't play it (Half-Life, GTA) and if the gunplay doesn't match the story then it just kinda slips through the cracks (Bioshock and Halo).

And no, I'm not joking.

Apparently my flame shield didn't work out so well.

Halo is definitely one of those games, it may seem troll-like but it really is, Halo isnt a great game, it isnt a bad game either but it just it isnt anything, it's so incredibly mediocre and incredibly generic.

Lost Odyssey was pretty meh too, the story was good but everything else felt archaic.
Dragon Age: Origins didn't impress me either.
Dante's Inferno...basically a lot of games this gen.

Most of the BIG games this gen arent meh though, most of them are either really bad or really good, the rest we don't pay attention to or they fade out. The only really big game this gen that is meh is Halo, the rest aren't remembered after a year or so.

Can I name two from each genre this gen, let's see.
so Lost Odyssey and Dragon Age for RPG
Dante's Inferno and Devil May Cry 4 for Hack and Slash
Halo and Perfect Dark Zero for FPS
I can't think of any platformers that were really average because most of them have been pretty good or pretty bad.
The new Soul Calibur and Tekken games have been pretty meh.
Gears of War 2 and Lost Planet 2 were both very meh.
GTA IV and Red Dead were kinda meh too. Boring in my eyes anyway. Not bad, not good, just boring.
Not many puzzle games were average.
I dunno, it may look like I've listed a bunch of popular titles to troll but I haven't I genuinely think these games are pretty average, that doesnt mean you can't enjoy them or have fun with them, it just means that they aren't all that great.

Most racing games for me. I had a little fun with grid but the only one I really liked was burnout takedown. And only for the arcade gameplay.

i don't care what you do and don't like,it just seems your looking for attention for exsample ,you picked games that people like,
and i don't like alot of halo games of cod games either but your statments are very broad, like when halo(1) came out it was definitly original in its control scheme and you know what its wasn't meh now halo 3 thats meh-tasic.half-life 2 was the first game with a acurate 3d phiscis engine, you have you opinoins but if you don't like bioshock then you probably don't like, systemshock 2 witch if didn't exist the pc market would be completely diferent and i don't mean in a good way.and by gta i assume you mean gta 4/3 which both were a blast when they came out.it just seems like you picking the most popular, overated games around.

Advent Rising was probably the absolute pinnacle of mediocrity. A failed attempt at competing with halo by way of cloning halo in form and function, planned as a trilogy but the abysmal performance of the "first" game meant it was doomed to be the "only" game. Its like bungie might've actually figured something out, make a ridiculously successful but completely boilerplate game, and no one can compete with you because any attempt to clone or duplicate it will be at least as mediocre.

Also, I remember Chome. I didn't pay for it, but I played it. It was actually interesting how boring it was.
Cloning Halo? The two games have absolutely nothing in common. Are you sure you're thinking of the right game?

Advent Rising's development was far from smooth and it's just one of those games that had a ton of potential and a lot of neat ideas but the developers just couldn't quite make it all come together.

Game development has become insanely bloated and is just as bad as Hollywood now. Mass Effect 1 was horribly bland, Oblivion was an insult to my intelligence, I've never understood what was so good about the Half-Life series, Halo (all of it) always struck me as Fisherprice's "My First Shooter." The list goes on and on. What passes for quality these days is pretty god damn sad.

Bad Company 2 and C&C4 come to mind. Mainly because they were meh-tastic additions to series that I really enjoyed. C&C particularly grated because I ended up wishing that it was as bad as people were saying it was at release, at least then it wouldn't have just been boring

Fallout 3, it wasnt fun, it wasnt particularly bad or broken but it wasnt what everyone made it out to be, it was just a way to pass the time until I could get xbox live and start killing things again (which sadly I still do not have)

The first few hours of Half-Life 2 were averagely mediocre to me to say the least, because I couldn't play it for long without getting fed up with it.

I'm gonna have to go with Halo.

It wasn't bad but it was all stuff I've seen before and seen done better.

I'd have to say Red Faction: Guerilla. I got it for free as part of some Darksiders pre-order bonus thing. I'll admit, the gameplay is alright, but the art style is bland, boring brown. Don't even get me started on how rediculous the writing is, particularly the dialogue.
