i've taken the nuzlocke challenge on pokemon emerald and i just took on Norman's gym, i was uneasy, as my key fighter, Dexter the Marshtomp had been killed by Flannery's Torkoal, which left me with my Beautifly, Breloom and new caught Sandslash, however, the last gym trainer somehow managed to defeat both Breloom and Beautifly (Timmy and Louise, RIP), so i entered the gym with my newest pokemon, all set for a defeat, when i discover that, in my infinite wisdom, i had neglected to heal my only chance at victory........

4 to 1 i beat the second toughest gym in hoenn!!! it's just ridiculous, and i'm so happy! ^_^

so anyway, what gaming pits of death and despair have my fellow escapees managed to... escape from?

I was a bit underleveled when I faced FFXII's Elder Wyrm. I kept spamming healing items and getting the occasional hit in, and just when half my characters was KO with no more Phoenix Downs, pretty much without MP and when I was a about to run out of other healing items, it died. Just like that.

Winning a battle on Shogun Total War (the original) when less than a quarter of my army remained and I was against a force some three times my size. The bulk of my army had been annihilated by a force of some four full armies. If I hadn't won that battle, it would have been a devastating loss as I didn't have the manpower to keep going. All I had left were cavalry and I threw them in on an 'all or nothing' glory charge, which they surprisingly won. The remnants of their army were exhausted, as they'd spent a good quarter of an hour encircling and destroying my infantry. In the end, I'd eliminated some 4,000 enemies for the loss of only about 700. Needless to say, I was very, very happy. Only problem was that that army had ceased to exist as a fighting force...

In Metroid Prime, I had just beaten a boss and my health could basically have been screaming "yo ass is deeeeead, *****!" With that in mind the nearest save point was at least 10 rooms away.

I was in the Space Pirate Phazon Mines. They weren't very happy about it.

But Goddamnit, by dodging like a ninja on adrenaline and jumping over the heads of bewildered enemies, I made it. I stepped into the little ring of light with palms sweating and a triumphant cheer on my lips.

when I was playing Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma I I had used all my healing items of the Fiend with the Sythe, Volfe for the second time on the last mission. I still managed to beat the game with my share of deaths on the last mission. I was on the Path of the Warrior

I was playing Marvel vs Capcom 3, and I was getting my butt handed to me on a rank matched.

It was me (Ryu, Wolverine, Deadpool) vs this guy (Sentinel, Dante, Magneto) and I got my ass royally kicked. I managed to take down Sentinel with Ryu, and Magneto with Wolverine, but Dante kept doing the same combo over (jump launcher, downward pistol shots, rotating blade, and jet stream in air, repeat until the cows go home) and Ryu and Wolverine got murdered in seconds. Well, right after they died, I looked at my hyper bar and realized I had filled it up completely, and I still I had X-Factor. Well here comes Deadpool, X-Factor activated, Level 3 Hyper, and then bam, Dante is dead.
