Metroid Prime 3 is the greatest game ever made, the inclusion of hypermode was necessary for the plot but it was the one blemish on the gameplay.

Hello this thread is dedicated to all things nitpicky. So escapists what insignificant things really get under your skin?

I know its pathetic but I get annoyed whenever people refer to Call of Duty World at War as Call of Duty 5 or Modern Warfare 2 as Call of Duty 6
It's the exact same way for me. Hell, Modern Warfare is now it's own series, so why is it being refered to as Call of Duty AT ALL? I'm more understanding with the CoD5 thing, but not by a whole lot.

People should just call them by their proper names. It's Modern Warfare 2, and Call of Duty: World at War. NOT Call of Duty 5 and 6, dammit. Especially for MW2. *points to what he said a second ago about it technically being its own series now*

When people think Link is called Zelda.
Trust me, it happens a lot.
...What!? Dear lord... I'm glad I never heard that happening. I think that's become yet another nitpick for me.

I'm annoyed when in games there are traps in that won't be triggered by the enemies, only you.
Pisses me off to no end.

OP: Dumb-as-a-post AI allies. They need to be smarter!
Both these apply to me too... you;d think game developers would work a little more in friendly AI; specifically NOT walking out infront of you when there are enemies around that you're trying to shoot at.

Worse still is them trying to be 'helpful' if you're responsible for their stuff, but end up just wasting resources. Like Allys in Fallout 3 shooting enemies for a second after they're already dead... and Sheva... ooooh, Sheva....

Although, my biggest gaming nitpick? People who aren't gamers that think they get the point. I could go on and on about Jack Thompson this, Australian Ratings Board that, but it can mostly be summed up in one phrase.
Resident Evil 5.
It was all set to be awesome, then people got hung up over supposed racism, forgetting the fact that the supposedly black people in the game are ZOMBIES OUT TO KILL ANYTHING NOT A ZOMBIE, resulting in the tacked-on partner we all so love and a few contrived reasons for her being there.
As it stands, the game is nothing compared to Resident Evil 4 in my opinion.

But yeah, my nitpick; people who think they get it but don't, end up meddling where they shouldn't, and causing said games to end up sucking, being needlessly censored, or even going unreleased.

Anyone advertising their game using FMV from cut scenes or footage created only for advertising purposes. Let me see your damned game running, don't try to dazzle me with shiny graphics. I hate that.
well I did like that one FF9 cocoa cola commercial that was pretty awesome >.>

OT: games that dont change in the slightest for the sequels... (looking at you EA)

I look at all my Xbox Live friends. I see 14 online. About 3 are playing something other than a Call of Duty or FIFA title.

They mock me for not liking either enough to buy them.

I'd say games which give you the same quests over and over again..
Oooh, I hope you haven't played Assassin's Creed... ;)
on that note i hate quests which are just unrealistic (hold on)

in Assassins creed one of the mini missions was to help a fellow assassin.....somtimes he asks for help killing some guys or pickpoketing, but my most despised mission he gave me

"ah altier maby you could help me, i was trying to diliver some flags and droped them, could you get them for me"

you then procide to run around on the roofs where he has dropped his flags....pisses me off

at least in WOW the quests are realistic for the gam,e world
