I was buying "Shadow of the Colossus", when some idiot behind me tells his friend "Look at that guy, he's buying some final fantasy game". And his friend replies "That's so gay" or something like that. Then I look at what they are buying, and they are buying this:

I'm thinking of checking out Shadow of the Collussus myself, since I never tried it yet. Some people just can't grasp that games can be about far more than gratuitous swearing and shooting things...

My personal gripe is people who can't grasp the difference between an exclusive title/franchise and a multi-platform one. Oh, and people who don't realise that games for one console simply WON'T run on another.

Oh, and anyone who clearly has no understanding of games and calls them all evil.

Do they realise that practically no-one USES pictochat any more? And just how long a range do they thing DSes have, because I don't think it's anywhere near as long-range as THEY think it is.

Granted they can send messages from fairly long distance, but you need to be close to actually get an initial connection first. Not to mention other things could interfere with the signal, and they were testing with a clear path between the DS units.

Oh, and they don't seem to realise that the kids actually need to be USING pictochat at the same time for it to even remotely work.

Damn straight.
It was my most played game behind Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Halo 3.
Shame I decided to trade it in for something which I think I traded in a month later but dammit, it was the best 100 hours of my life.
I should really re-buy it, actually.

It is also really cheap now, so no excuse not to!

I was at my local gamestop a few years back. A guy comes in and walks straight up to the counter and asks "Do you have any copies of the 'Pimp My Ride' game in stock?" The employee began to type the name into the computer when the manager approached the guy from behind, tapped him on the shoulder. When he turned around, the manager looked him dead in the eyes and said in 'no shit' voice, "Sir, I'm gonna have to ask you to leave."

I have never laughed so hard.

I'm in a store, and there's always one parent in there with the little kid, buying them the cheapest fucking shitty game in the store. A then when the kid asks for a game they want, they're like "NO! I'm not paying $30 for some vidya gaem!" And the kid gets stuck with Barbie Horse Adventures or whatever.

Went into Game not too long ago and the people behind the desk were talking about Dragon Age.

One guy was complaining how it had shit graphics, and then was saying how he hated it because it took too long for the guy to swing his sword, and when he got an upgraded sword how it took even longer. Then the other guy said "Oh, well it's shit then? Won't bother.".

There's an episode of Scrubs where Turk's playing some video game co-op with someone, and one person is using a standard Xbox wireless control while the other is using a wired one .... with the wire removed. Small detail, I know, but they couldn't pay the extra $5 (or whatever the difference between them is in the US) for a wired one for the sake of consistency?

Basically, they were ripping on Mass Effect for having that one particular "sex scene". There are so many worse games in the world that have worse situations than that, yet they focus on the most popular games at the time.
