Hi there,
In between exams and such, I've been looking into acquiring a gaming pc, yet even non-pre-built ones in Australia are ludicrously expensive compared to America and such. Thus, I have turned, as one does, to getting a second-hand model off eBay, as my fellow consumers aren't obliged to utterly rip Aussies off like the big corporations are. Anyway, enough ranting. I'm trying to spend less than $1000 if I can, if only to save some cash left over for peripherals, games and, y'know, food. Thus, here is one I found for about $725, can you confirm whether the specs provided are at all competitive with PS4/Xbone, and what parts would need to be replaced/added in order to make it more on parity with a console?

CPU: Intel Core i5 4690K Quad Core unlocked 3.5Ghz
RAM: 8 gigabytes
GPU: Intel HD graphics HD4600K 4K Ultra HD
HDD: 1TB
PSU: 550W

Plus, there's an optical drive, wireless adapter thingy and a selection of cases. No OS/mouse/keyboard/monitor, I notice, but I can get those myself.

Anyway, if anyone could please let me know how this one compares in the grand scheme of things and I'd need anything else, that'd be grand. If anyone knows any websites or such that ship PCs/PC parts to Australia that could get comparable parts for cheaper, please speak up, because everywhere seems to be a rip off.
Thanks,
-Quirky

P.S. How do you post photos on this forum? I tried for a while to post a screenshot of the information here, but couldn't figure it out. Any help there as well would be appreciated.

While I can't be certain of the exact specs you're paying for (no model mentioned for motherboard, case, PSU, HDD etc) I added together the costs of those parts assuming decent brands and a cheap case sourced from pccasegear.com (Australian supplier) and got a comparable total for buying everything new.

Deepcool Smarter Mid Tower Case $39
Intel Core i5 4690K $319
ASRock Z97 Anniversary Motherboard $129
G.Skill Ripjaws X F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL (2x4GB) DDR3 $85
Western Digital WD Blue WD10JPVX 1TB $89
Corsair VS550 ATX Power Supply $69
ASUS PCE-N15 Wireless N PCIe Adaptor $20
Samsung SH-224DB 24x DVDRW OEM $19
Total $769 (postage not included)

Traditionally used technology plummets in value the same way that a used car does so considering that's what you'd be getting (so no warranty, etc) what they're asking seems like more than it's worth. Also, while probably a good basis for a gaming rig, there is no dedicated GPU and the PSU is probably off-brand rubbish that would need to be replaced, so while the Pisspoor/Xbone aren't exactly powerhouses what you'd be getting wouldn't stack up as is. Would recommend building yourself and sourcing parts from pccasegear.com or a local store if you can find one with decent prices (not sure where you're at so probably irrelevant but Dcomp is alright when you don't have patience for delivery).

Simplest way is to just upload it somewhere (imgur, etc) and post a link. You can't attach to posts here, only embed external images using BBCode.

Use http://www.logicalincrements.com/ . It shows roughly what you can get for you money at each price point and when you have selected your currency it will take you to an Australian supplier. I have no idea if that's the best price for Oz.
