Hey guys, I'm looking at building my first gaming PC. I don't really require anything too extravagant and my budget is $500-700.

I talked with my PC gaming buddy and he recommended the following parts which add up to $550~.

I know this is a trainwreck of a post, but any and all advice would be appreciated. I'm just looking to be able to play Amnesia/Penumbra games and lower basically.

I'd recommend spending a bit more money and getting a good power supply (600+ watts, but more importantly from a reliable manufacturer).

Also, on the ram, just spend 10 bucks more and get the GSKILL Ripjaw series item # N82E16820231314 (I can't get the link to work for some reason). RAM is so cheap nowadays it is not even funny and value RAM can bog down an otherwise decent system.

Kind of, I just saw the mobo you picked out limits the memory speed to 1333. So if you do choose that one, get the Ripjaw RAM at that speed, I think I linked the 1600 speed RAM.

I'd also recommend upgrading the processor to an i5 if you can afford to, it's a good system but the i3 might bog it down a bit. Not necessary as such, but it'd be a good investment in the long run.

Also, as I post in every one of these things, better processor cooler! Even a cheap one will significantly increase processor lifetime and performance. I use one that looks a lot like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065
