hmm... this is kind of specific... but in S4 league, and some other online shooting games, I hate when an opponent takes about 50,000 bullets then turns around and one-shots you, clean.

Also, sorry, though this might be considered derailing....

Multiplayer, mostly cos of people with microphones now a days. Ive yet to hear someone use it for a useful purpose online. Other that to yell at someone or say "noob". I love the mute button.
I only hate it when people's mic's overdrive... it makes me soooo mad!

stereotypical "gangstas"
Alls I have to say is Amen! That and lazy-talk! OMG Lazy-talk is the WORST!!!(IE. "aks" instead of ask)
I gotta say, did it become cool to look down on people because of how they speak? Their accents? People do it all over the world, its no different in the spoken word.

However, if you're talking about people who *try* to acquire the accents... wannabe-"gangstas" or thugs, then I completely agree. I agree if you meant purely in written language as well. I should hope you can avoid purposefully misspelling words...

Just some things that I needed to say.
Considering that we are talking about games; no 'gangsta' can buy, build and play a computer (I only play PC, and I am sure there is one or two exceptions) so the only people lazy-talkin are wannabe's to begin with. But even if they weren't, it is not a accent it is a dialect that is intended to sound unschooled and dumb, and it pisses me off....

Although, I wish I had a really cool accent... maybe an Irish accent, it'd match me red beard! I think accents themselves are awesome. :D

Edit: I get what you mean tho... other thoughts.. I think I am going to move to ireland and intentionally let the accent get to me... hmmmmmm :D

World of Warcraft...

It always drives me insane when someone in the party is constantly telling you how to play your class or role, even when its quite clear they have no idea what they are talking about. They nitpick at every mistake thinking its a common occurence and when you tell them politely that you don't need tutoring, they get shirty and start spouting abuse.

Obviously sometimes advice is warranted and helpful but for the most part, telling someone how to do their job on a daily basis is something which slowly drives me into a snivveling fit of mouth foaming rage.

Classes in WoW with stuns. I'm in a battleground hiding by the flag room and suddenly a rogue pops out of nowhere, stuns me repeatedly so I can't react even if I want to, and end up dead within three seconds. I don't know how I'm supposed to defend against that besides Ice Block and hope they get bored before it wears off.
I know your pain. I used to play a Shaman in PvP which would usually result in most fights starting and ending with the words "Cannot do that while stunned".

Blizzards excuse is that PvP isn't balanced around 1v1 fights and hense, theres always going to be classes which excel at picking apart lone players.

Which is why I now play a Retribution Paladin.

Constant batterings eventually turned me into a FOTM roller and I'm having a lot more fun as a result.

Poor camera angles. Spam attacks that kill you in one or two hits. Cheapass bosses (Are you listening, SNK/Playmore?). AI whose main programming dictates that they should always get in front of me in a dogfight. Poorly designed controls.

It's a tie between a greasy/sweaty controller (as in, you're at a friends place and they obviously do not care for their shit the way you do) and just about everything that is CoD4

Subscritions fees (I'll never play a game with them)

Kids using the word "noob". You're too young to call anyone old enough to switch a console on a noob.

Games (or just bits of games) where you're unable to fight the monsters. Being crap at fighting them is fine, but being completely unable just makes the hero a deadweight.

Kid characters (other than creepy evil kids)

people who play on servers that say 'newbie server' but are infact crawling with hackers and extremely good players who can't hand't being shot by a 'noob'. Hacks my ass, just get off your high horse and accept you got shot for crying out loud. As well as blaming it on lag when it was quite clear it wasnt :p

That, and people on teamspeak. Thank Goodness for mute.

When the game mentions "biological labs". JESUS CHRIST THERES ZOMBIES JUST SAY IT!. Or mutants or whatever.
"Biotech offers the best BIOLOGICAL RESEARCH ever, but its very SECRETIVE, there are rumors that SICK EXPERIMENTS, take place there. ZOMBIES HAPPEN." pretty much sums up how some games are. Can someone have a less obvious zombie level PLEASE. God i hate it.

people with numbers in their names cause the name was taken already.
Why? Someone can't add some numbers at the end so they can have a screen name they actually want?

In three words: Real is Brown [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RealIsBrown]. I like color in my games, damnit!

Screaming 12 year olds on multiplayer. Especially on M games. Go play legos or something for Christ's sake. Only come back when you start churning out testosterone and grow a pair.

Rocket-jumping.

I must be the only person on Earth that can't figure out how the rocket-jump works.

[sub]But it would blow off your legs! Why does this even exist?![/sub]

The dearth of Australian servers for L4D and TF2- trying to play either online usually results in horrible lag and being kicked from the game. In the case of L4D, I have had, on several occasions, the level load, only to be confronted by a Vote to kick me (which always passes). That, and the fact that almost everyone I have met playing Versus (on the few occasions where lag doesn't render it unplayable) have been utter tosspots, means I mostly play Single Player.

I hate staircase campers alot, but my biggest pet peeve is people with names that are just jumbles of numbers, like "189477" or something like that. Ruins the whole point of trying to communicate in a game.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I especially hate it when they come into my game (other than Halo) and insist I go play Halo. It also seems that all they can do is complain about dying. I had one in L4D that I rather enjoyed leaving for dead.

People who try to "argue" with you, and their technique consists mainly of yelling into the microphone so that they can't hear your argument over their own yelling.
