Anyone got some decent gaming related podcasts to share?
I'd be highly appreciative of one that's funny whilst focusing on PC gaming, but I'd take a look at most.

There are a few games I play that the sound isn't overly important (e.g Roguelikes/Borderlands) or that are just mindless enough for me to focus on other things (Torchlight/Minecraft), and I'd like some more podcasts to fill that audiohole.

I've listened to PC gamers, Rock Paper Shotguns and The Escapists and whilst good they all seem overly average. There must be something podcast specific that tops these.

Idle thumbs is coming back. A lot of people like the Giant Bombcast I guess but that isn't pc gaming specific.

Three moves ahead is good but that is strategy gaming specific which is mostly pc.

I tend to listen (thought they're also video podcasts) to ones on Gamebreaker.tv, GameInformer or TheGameStation Podcast on youtube.

Gamebreaker.tv mainly does specific shows, The Republic (SWTOR discussion) Legendary (WoW) GuildCast (Guild Wars 2), TWIMMO (This Week In MMO, various MMO news.)

Game Informer does some specific podcasts, they just put out an Assassin Creed one.

TGS Podcast has TotalBiscuit, Jesse Cox, Dodger and a rotating third to talk about all sorts of gaming stuff for 3 or so hours.

I used to listen to SarcasticGamer.com podcast but I haven't for a while now, just stopped and never picked it up.

Other than that, the hilariousness that is Rooster Teeth Podcast. They don't always talk about video games but it's still hilarious as hell.

That's about all I got for now.

I listen to a moderate amount of podcasts, so I'm not really well versed in the many many podcasts out there but I've found several that are pretty good.

Firstly, probably somewhat predictably there's the Yogscast. It's a bit hit and miss sometimes but I've found it pretty entertaining to have in the background while I'm playing something.

There's the Extra Credits podcast which I've listened to a few times. Earlier episodes didn't impress me but more recent ones held my attention better. They seem to be pretty long though. The podcast isn't actually done by the guys who do Extra Credits, but rather the people who run their fan site, Extra Curricular. Check it out here. [http://extra-credits.net/podcasts/]

But my favourite gaming related podcast I've come across is the Gamestation podcast, hosted by TotalBiscuit. They are completely hilarious but are an ungodly length, usually going well over 3 hours long. But it's all fantastic. Doesn't seem to drag on at any point, even when they go wandering miles off topic. Link here. [http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLE21A1EE8230AB448&feature=plcp]

I listen to a few other podcasts that aren't game related but I still find very entertaining, but are perhaps not to everyone's taste because of their subject.

IGN's old Command Prompt (that Steve Butts was in!) was pretty good actually, but I really doubt it exists anymore.

Podtoid. I can't stop laughing when I listen to it, although I must warn you it deviates from video games quite a lot, but if you've got a dark sense of humour then you'll probably like it :p

Seconding Podtoid and YoGPoD

The Australian Gamer Show/Australian Gamer Podcast is awesome. But perhaps not always relevant to non-Australians.

It's Matt Burgess (Yahtzee's room mate) and Yug Bloomberg (Yeah, the guy who first thought up the Mana Bar and works for MCV Pacific) who started AustralianGamer.com.au way back when (circa '03/'04) Disclaimer I don't have any stake in AG.com.au nor and I advertising for it. It's just background info.

OP: since you like roguelikes, I can't recommend Roguelike Radio highly enough. Very interesting stuff.

Gamers With Jobs Conference Call is the best gaming Podcast I'm familiar with. They often have high profile guests like Ken Levine and all the hosts bring something different and interesting to the table.

http://www.gamerswithjobs.com/podcast

A friend of mine also co-hosts a pretty good (mostly) PC-centric podcast that just started up a few weeks ago:

http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/game-out-loud/id511751879?ign-mpt=uo%3D4

And yeah, someone already said Idle Thumbs, they're legendary.

Weekend Confirmed isn't too shabby.

Basically, if you only listen to two gaming podcasts, they should be Idle Thumbs and GWJ Conference Call though.

If you don't mind archival stuff, you might have a look at

Active Time Babble (1UP)
or
Roleplayer's Realm (Gamepro)

There's also The Out-Cast <theoutcastpodcast.blogspot.com>

All of these focus more on consoles than pc, especially The Out-Cast since it's focused exclusively on Japanese gaming, but each one still manages to be insightful and interesting.

Gameinformer has a decent show, but they tend to want to cover as many games as possible per episode, so they can't go in-depth as often as I would like. Retronauts over at 1UP is also fun, but the topics aren't always strictly gaming-related.

I'm in the exact same place you are, nothing better than playing saints row 3 and listening to a podcast.

I choose rooster teeth, they run a gaming site and post gaming related stuff on youtube but there podcast covers just about everything.

It used to be called the drunk tank but changed it to seem more professional, they do still drink though.

Now they have have sponsors they sometimes throw in a "this podcast is sponsored by ..." crap with a 10% off coupon or something but it's 10 seconds out of an otherwise awesome podcast.

Hmm There's 4playerpodcast. They don't stick to PC games strictly, but they do play them! The can be pretty funny at times too. They go live every night! Also, you can find highlights from their podcasts on their youtube channel. The highlights are all really funny usually. Sometimes watching them live gets boring if you're not into whatever game they're playing :3
