Hi, I am a newbie to the site and love both gaming and poetry. So, having seen that there has yet to be a thread dedicated to poems about games, I thought I would start this up. Here is a poem I wrote a while ago dealing with Assassin's Creed. Let me know what you think and post some of your own works if you have any. I would like for this to be a thing.

A Creed

I once asked a brother how i should live my life.
He said: Nothing is True.
"But brother," i rebutted, "the world's full of facts.
The sun is hot, and ice is not; how do you answer these?"

He answered thus: "We must treat things not as facts,
But as theories we should test. Its only then
A man can know what is and isn't fact.
Take not what others say without a grain of salt."

"Further more, remember this," my brother said.
Everything is Pemitted.
"But brother," I rebutted, "there are things even kings
Cannot do. The law keeps murderers at bay."

"Again you fail to understand," my brother said.
"I mean to say no man may tell you what to do.
Free will is a gift no man should squander,
One should always walk his own desired path.

Welcome to the Escapist, friendo!

I shall regal you with a poem of epic proportions[footnote]Thought up on the spot![/footnote]
:Mayor of SimCity said:
Only an idiot would put me in charge,
roads that lead nowhere,
schools next to nuclear plants,
who says you need police?

Nuclear meltdown,
"natural" disasters,
aliens and high taxes...
Why haven't you all just moved away?

Only an idiot...

I press the icon, the game is launching
My choice is multi, that's how I'm playing
I've chosen a race, I've picked my tactic
I think to myself, "This will be so sick"

It's time to build my base
Adrenaline rushes, such a race
I now have my soldiers, what a tightly built ship
I charge toward his domain, let 'er rip!

Look at these queens, look at these 'lings
So much to do, how can I manage all these things?
Stress makes it abode, I can't keep track
Unsuccessful is my attack

I retreat to safety
His counter coming so inevitably
I built my base, from top to toe
Yet destruction is coming, such is my woe

Buildings shattered, lives wasted
This is sweet defeat I've tasted
I start typing, humble I shall be
Two letters I write, "gg"

Time to join another game
Deep down I know it'll be the same
Over again, we start
Another time, Starcraft will break my heart

Not as good as I wanted it to be, maybe I'll come back some other day with a better one.
