I'm stuck at a bit of an impasse right now. I took a lot of time off these past few months from playing TF2, to try out other games. While my pilgrimage of sorts was enlightening and entertaining, I decided to give TF2 a whirl recently.

I don't know what it is about it, but I don't seem to be having as much fun. Its not that I am overwhelmed by the new features, but it just feels different to me. Its strange. I'm playing on the same servers with the same people, but I feel more isolated from the group than before.

I haven't spoken to anyone in game apart from saying hello, I just feel like I'm not having as much fun as I should be.

Maybe I'm just rusty, I don't know. But has anyone else had this happen to them? How did you cope?

The game is indeed different, it takes some getting used to compared to other games, watch some tutorials on youtube if you're having trouble.

If that wasn't the problem then try different servers or something, or perhaps TF2 just isn't for you?

Edit: I get in these moods where I don't feel like playing something every now and then, I just go and play/do something else for a little while and eventually I'll get in the mood where I'll want to play it again.

I even sometimes get in this mood where I'm bored and I'll look through my list of games and say "Nah" to each one, where I then end up searching around youtube for some videos are come on here or something.

I don't know, I've loved the game for years, but its not like some new mulitplayer FPS has changed my opinions of it. TF2 will always be my FPS of choice.

I get that way about tf2 sometimes. Stick to what you know and then shake off the rust and then gradually expand and begin to understand the new game. When this happens to me i go watch tv. Or come here and look at the forums

I've had the same feeling about TF2 a few times. You might want to try out a new server or two that are really different from your regular ones. Like a zombie fortress or a surf one, they are just a really good break from the normal game modes.
