Gaming reminders

Derived from the Zero Punctuation: Silent Hill 2 review, do you have any games that you replay every now and then to remind you how good gaming actually is? My games in this case would be some of my favourites, Final Fantasy VII, Shadow of The Colossus and Chrono Trigger. They don't wear out, they show off gaming at it's best, and just makes me happy. They each show storytelling at it's best while keeping the game fun and approachable for anyone. Sure, they weren't perfect, but they were darn well close to being.

Mafia, KotOR 1, Mass Effect.

I won't play the HL2 games again until Ep 3 comes out, so that it's more of a one time experience, so that everything still holds impact. Don't ask why, it's just how I operate.

I do the same thing with Lost as we don't have Sky so I buy the boxsets but they only come out like 9 months after a series has ended.

Nope. I just go with the trend. Besides, once I get used to the current generation of graphics, I can't go backwards to a less graphical game. ie: 007 Goldeneye and Super Smash Bros. for the N64. They were great games don't get me wrong. In fact, 007 Goldeneye was the best shooter of it's time in my opinion. But yeah, I still can't go back to that era.

No. I have games I play again because I enjoyed them the first time. I don't need to be reminded of how good gaming is, since there's always good games being released.

Okami. I play that all the time. And yes, I'm not afraid to say I shed a tear at the end. Almost every time.

Half-Life 2, Zelda (any of them except for Phantom Hourglass), the most recent Prince of Persia, and Golden Sun.

Basically every time I replay that game, I notice something else interesting about it.

Also, a friend of mine would definitely say Deus Ex, for similar reasons.

I fall back on that game more than I'd care to admit. Something so addicting about it... Say, has anybody here played Tetris 2?
