I'm sure I could think of some others that are worse, but I can't remember at the moment.
I was playing Halo 3 a few months ago, I believe it was Squad Battle on The Pit, I had just picked up the Rocket Launcher and both teams started fighting in a fairly open area and I decided to help out. I fire two rockets, and everyone except me and the other team dies, that's right i killed everyone on my team. I even tried to aim away from them! Needless to say I was swiftly killed.

Played through half life 1 thinking you cant save
...How the hell did you manage that? Did you beat it in one sitting or did you eventually realise you could save?

I guess mine would be that I can't beat the first Super Mario Bros. I have both it and SMB3 on the Wii virtual console, but 3 is the only one I'm making any real progress with and it's getting painful.

I'll top that. I couldn't beat the demo for the Gamecube.

I beat it once, but couldn't repeat it.

I have never beat Mario brothers 2 or 3 though.

Also, I used to own the DDR home version.
Used to!?!?

I still have mine and play it regularly.

I will do this in EVERY GAME, EVER!

I'll just walk around in circles, wondering where to go, even though the path is right in front of me. Then I'll backtrack to the beginning of the level, because I thought I was going forward.

Yeah, I'm not that great.

I was playing a rush round in Battlefield BC2 as a defender and the enemies had planted the charge. I thought it would be best to throw a grenade into the house where the M-COM station was situated so I'd have a free way to disarm it. Instead, my grenade ble up the last standing wall of the house making the house fall apart... taking 3 of my teammates with it. Geez, was I ashamed.

First time for a laugh I went through MGS3 on Very Easy. It was way too easy with the correctly named EZ Gun.
Just FYI - that thing doesn't eliminate footstep noise. I tried.
Well when you shoot every single soldier in the game with it as soon as you see them you tend not to notice your are constantly sprinting around.

Playing DA:O, I set the game's difficulty to Easy. Short version, I play games like that for the story, not for the gaming challenge.

...I couldn't get through a lot of battles, and got stuck in the game until the patch came out to make Easy even Easier.

I still haven't beat the first Mario or Zelda games. I can always get close but next to the last level in both I end up getting frustrated and stopping/starting over. I really need to try harder.

Not being able to work out where to go in many, many games.
The worst of which I think was a PS2 game where I got onto the penultimate level where you start in a vent.
I tried everything; using gadgets to blast open the grating. shooting it with every weapon I had on me, looking for secret passages and trying to jump on it so it opened.
Turns out I had to press X.

I tend to plow trough some of the areas in Splinter Cell games and only after killing all the enemies there do I see how I could have been sneaking around them.
I kill them anyway. Stabbity stab stab.
But what about the very pleasing feeling when you have made it trough a map without harming a single person?
Not as good (to me) as the feeling of wading through a heap of dead enemies.

I also like the *shinnk* noise.

Thats cool. I bought it because I thought it woudl be a fun way to lose some weight. I got frustated though becuase easy was too easy and the next step up was too hard. I ended up selling it back.

Its good to know someone else has it though. I do still have beatmainia for teh PS2.

Usually that's bad game design.

When I was about 9 I had to beg a friend to come round and do the tutorial level of Driver on the PS1 when I was a kid as after about 3 months I just couldn't do it.

I was so scared of Ravenholm that I almost could not finish HL2. There. I said it.

The funny thing is, nowadays I really enjoy horror games. Silent hill has been one of my favourites for long. I'm still proud of solving the Shakespeare puzzle in SH3 without a guide. Actually, I've never wanted help with them. If I can't beat one puzzle, I just leave it be and ponder on it during lectures and such. When I think I got it, I fire up my PS2 once again.

But alas! There is one more thing to confess. My almost-forgotten dark secret, Runescape. I used a walkthru for every single quest there was for it. Mainly because I simply could not understand English at the time but also because I did not care for the story but just wanted levels fast. Shame on me. I can't even begin to think how much more fun it would've been if I'd actually used my brain.
