Gaming troubles.

Recently like a lot of Escapist I downloaded Alien Swarm. Now I go to the practice mode yet for some reason when my loading bar gets to almost fool, The screen blackens and then it goes back to normal then just quits the game. Can any one help me or is any one having the same problem?

What tends to solve most solutions for me is the few simple steps:
1. Go on properties and set it to run the program in compatibility mode for XP (SP2)
If that doesn't work then
2. Undo step 1, then run as admin
If that doesn't work then
3. Combine steps 1 + 2
If that doesn't work then
4. Google it.
