So ive just been given an assignment for my college coursework and have been given a task to make a live TV show with my group. We get to use a TV studio in college, use the resources and make a proper TV show set in a studio. So me and my group decided we wanted to have a bash at making a gaming TV show.

Were going to include such things as:

.Reviews
.Upcoming games
.Trying To Break A Gaming World Record *Using Guinesses Gaming Edition 09 As A Template*
.Retro Games
.Internet Games
.Worst Games Ever
.Best Games Ever
.We also can do out of studio stuff such as scetches
.Maybe something like mystery science theatre but with games.
.QnA Session
.Competitions

We only have a 15-20 minute time scheduale to fit things in. But we also want to include things from the audiance. This sort of thing has always been tried but not many have been that successful. But we want to mainly look into our audiance. So we need some market research.

You as a gaming market.
What would you like to see in a gaming TV show?
what would you like us to include?
Can you give us any suggestions?

Any ideas, suggestions feel free to put them forward as we as a group would like all the help we can get into making a good Gaming TV show.

Thanks.

Should be pretty interesting, especially the Record Breaking part. I don't know if youl be able to fit all that in 15 minutes.

That sounds like the best coursework in the world - is it a vocational course?

Its a Media course National Diploma. Final peice of work i got to do before I leave for Uni in September.

Probably wont be able to fit it all into a 15 minute gap but we are trying to get longer because if it does get us a good grade and is successful we were thinking about doing it in our spare time any way because we have all the resources and can pretty much do it on a low budget.

But feel free to add any suggestions, comments anything at all to help

That link definatly bought me back a few years. Gamesmaster was an awesome TV show always had to watch it. Doesnt the guy who presented that go on to doing When Games Attack after Gamesmaster wasnt on anymore?

I would suggest toning down the number of ideas you have, it would be better to go into detail about a few key gaming elements as opposed to trying to cram s lot of information in. A couple of reviews, an Retro game, and a "Bargain Bin" segment are all used in every show like this because they are what consumers want to see.

As opposed to the best games ever or worst games ever I suggest possibly talking about game mechanics in certain genres and how they have evolved throughout time, you could use examples of ways they have been created effectively and not so effectively.

Yeah there just ideas we have for now, were obviosuly going to chop some and probably elaborate on some. The evolution of gaming a good idea i actually done that for a written peice of coursework and showing the steps its gone through time good and bad would be a great idea :)

sounds interesting, you should mention the evolution of a certain genre, like fps. ie how they started with the likes of wolfenstein and now we have the likes of crysis and CoD

Don't script it, the best stuff will come right off the top of your head.
Weve already decided were sort of scripting the structure of the show but what we say and that is going to come off the top of our heads especially something like Mystery Science Theatre. Humour is best as spontanious actions not scripted.
