Have you ever experienced a moment of pure gaming 'zen'? Where everything else just fades into the background and you become one with your character. And before you know it, you've played 8 straight hours and it's 4am in the morning and you gotta get up for work at 5:30am.

I've had a couple. namely...

MGS 3, that game has many many moments that had me completely sucked in. The End battle and lots of the sneaking had me so involved I swear my breathing matched Naked Snake's in-game.

Fallout 3/Oblivion just exploring the land was so engrossing, I often lost track of time and found myself going to work with little or no sleep because of that game.

Online FPS multiplayer. Killzone, Resistance 2, CoD4/6, etc, etc. Especially during kill streaks.

So what 'Zen'-like moments have you had?

Hmmm... KOTOR and Suikoden... and Kessen... Fallout 3... Fable 2... well, with any good game I'll spend hours on it really.

EE2, I was sucked in for 5-6 hours I was trying to get a victory without having to go to war, I did. Yay for diplomacy.

Yeah, it's happened to me before, usually with some of the older, really good RPGs. Not so much these days, mostly due to the fact that my lifestyle allows for me to play videogames for fairly long stretches at a time anyway.

I think the last time this happened to me was with Dawn of War though, playing as the Sisters of Battle and fighting against Chaos and Necrons for control over some pissant world in the middle of freakin' nowhere. HOURS of give-and-take skirmishing all over the planet before I got my act together and cleansed the Xenos and Heretics.
