ever heard of UT99? if so, then you'd agree that that has great tecno style music, that just pumps you up to play the game
This in particular is one of my utmost favourites.Panzervaughn said:Silent Hill 2: Laura's theme.

I thank you, for showing me this.nukethetuna said:Armored Core 4 and For Answer (and Nexus) stand out to me because they're so different from everything else you'll hear.
Cross is within the top 5 JRPG OSTs ever, definitely superior to Trigger's.PlatinumWarlock said:This thread is not complete without mention of Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross. Hard to believe that it wasn't mentioned already.
That said, the Battle Theme of XIII was quite possibly the best main battle theme in the series since VII, which has, for my money, the best main battle music of any game ever.nukethetuna said:Masashi Hamauzu does great soundtracks. I consider SF2's to be his best work, but Sigma Harmonics' soundtrack is also incredibly good. Oddly enough, I consider FFXIII to be one of his weaker efforts, despite being the one most people have heard.
Definitely agree with you on that. I was introduced to this one in another one of these threads and loved it-nukethetuna said:While lots of soundtracks are great, Armored Core 4 and For Answer (and Nexus) stand out to me because they're so different from everything else you'll hear.
Oh yeah, it definitely was one of the best battle themes in the series. I mean FFXIII had a great soundtrack overall too. It just goes to show how good a composer he is when it can be considered to not be his best. It makes me sad that he gets overshadowed a lot. Sometimes it feels like Uematsu (Classic FF), Shimomura (Kingdom Hearts), and Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger/Cross, Xenogears) are the only three Japanese composers anyone has heard of.Austin Howe said:That said, the Battle Theme of XIII was quite possibly the best main battle theme in the series since VII, which has, for my money, the best main battle music of any game ever.nukethetuna said:Masashi Hamauzu does great soundtracks.
