But how do you define discrimination when the decision is based on the feelings of the interviewer? Even a 100% WASP (or 100% Gay etc.) IS diverse as long as they are the best for the job.

I get the feeling Nepotism is far more at fault than Xenophobia.

Well, given that money and power tend to pass across family links rather than gender, sexuality or racial since the invention of...well, power and money; it would be rather unscientific to dismiss it so readily.

I work at a GameStop, and I can verify both of these claims as true! Definitely a shitty company to work for... xD

Unfortunately, some people would disagree with you on that point. I've been taught to accept people no matter what they're race, age, sex, sexuality. And it'll be how I raise my kids.

Does it really matter what sexual preference, gender or skin colour people are when applying for jobs? Surely all that matters is if the person they are hiring is right for the job at hand. Its great they are not discriminating, but is it really in a business's best interests know about their employee's private life?
