I thought that was the entire point of a season pass, you pay for all the DLC to be released up front? Nice to see that even a relatively new concept can be twisted a bit.

Can you at least reveal all the details before people buy in? That smacks of trickery since omitting information like that may have slowed some people's decision to purchase.
They did, it's in the store page on steam that you get FOUR DLC items.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/218560/?cc=kr

There is a link for other people to see if they don't believe me.
Yeah, but for a good time, that is until now, those four DLC and the Mechromancer were the only known pieces of DLC and it was never said that there would be more down the pipeline until now, so it would've been fair to assume the season pass is all inclusive.

Then they release this information after the game has launched and I find that incredibly suspect. Exact words or no, they've deliberately omitted a detail there until after release when people have already made their choice. Iffy, Gearbox, very iffy.
So this is pretty much a issue of assumption on peoples behalf. People being shocked more DLC is being made, which is funny because we have no idea what it is going to be. For all we know it's a skin pack, kinda like the Saints Row The Third and how it's season pass is for the expensive DLC missions while not including the cheap costume/weapon add ons.

You can say no one said anything, but it was on the store page. What always amazes me is the fact people hate DLC making it seem like the game is unfinished, but back in the expansion pack days you had to go to the store and buy what was in a nutshell DLC on disc. I also like how people feel like they "have" to buy DLC when they don't. If a game is incomplete it wouldn't run right and a company would demand money from you to fix it, not give you a working game and give add ons for a price

It was on the store page, but worded in what I now believe to be a very suspiciously ambiguous way. A direct quote from the description of the season pass on the in-game store (Xbox 360) is "Buy the season pass and get all four downloadable content packs".

Yes, it was an assumption on a lot of our behalves to assume that's all the content there would be, but it has seriously been worded in such a way to make us think that would be the case. The key word there being "all", which implies some sort of finality or all-inclusiveness to the season pass. Thinking this wasn't unreasonable nor was it a result of people's unjustified expectations of the Season pass.

The problem lies in the incredibly ambiguous wording.

And I do still find it suspect that they announce this after the game has launched.

Yeah the wording is odd, but I still see the "four" in the description which is still in line with the steam page. Also who cares when it was announced? Unless the content was locked in the files and the DLC unlocked it they are ripping you off with holding anything from you. No one is holding a gun to your head to buy this content, it's not like some games where the content is on the disc/cart and you have to download a key to unlock it (free or not).

I care when it was announced, it's incredibly relevant that they decided to withhold information about non-season pass DLC, continue to let people believe (with the ambiguous wording of "all") that the season pass was for all the DLC, and then announce they'll have extra non-season pass DLC. I find that incredibly iffy and it seems they deliberately withheld that information until after launch when most people will have made their decision to not incite some of the backlash that DLC seems to bring or perhaps the season pass would've been perceived as less valuable had people known it wasn't all inclusive.

Announcement time is actually kind of critical to my point here.

And so what if I'm not forced to buy it? How is that relevant? I hate this argument in general because it never means anything but gets bandied about so often anyway, "Oh, no-one is forcing you to buy X game/DLC/whatever". So? That automatically means I shouldn't voice concerns over it? Of course it doesn't, that's incredibly silly. It's fairly minor stuff in the grand scheme of things, yes. But I'm voicing disapproval because I'm of the opinion that this will set a poor precedent for more perversion of this "Season Pass" concept.

What they said was misleading. They sold people this idea that the pass was all-inclusive then they decided to start making hidden charges. People may be complaining, but they have the right to, Gearbox lied to them.

Some people, on the other hand, are allowing a company to pee on their face and tell them it's raining, then smile and ask for more.
I can understand being annoyed if they said something like 'we're releasing special versions of each DLC not in the season pass, in which you have to buy them again' but they have said that the dlc is weapon and character packs

lets put it into practise for a sec, lets just say for now, season pass is £20, The dlc in the season pass is £27 separately, and the non season pass stuff is £10

You buy the season pass, you complain about this, you buy all DLC = £30
You don't buy the season pass, don't complain, buy all DLC = £37
It still works out cheaper.

From my perspective, I looked at the season pass, it said 3 for 4 on major dlc packs. Knowing that I would buy them all anyway, I got it. This has come to light. I do not care for extra weapons or vehicles on there own, so I won't be getting any of this stuff. I am glad they have done it this way, because the season pass would have cost more otherwise.

I can completely understand if they were conning you, I get it, but as far as I see, it clearly say get 4 DLC for the price of 3, thats all it said.

Like I said, they could always just revoke it, then people who don't care for this extra stuff would lose out on a deal, while eveyone else is going 'aha, now I get to pay more money for everything'

And I do understand that the season pass is vague, but as far as I see it, Im getting 4 dlcs I would buy for 3, no extra stuff I don't want, no nothing.

Could they have been more revealing with this, yes they could, and I belive its bad on their part, but it could be the other way round, the season pass could only contain cosmetic stuff while the major dlc is not included

Dear god imagine that D:

The "season pass" was just a generic term they used. It is utterly asinine to take it as literal as it was clearly never intended to be. But, suppose you do take it literally, what season are they referring to? The 2012 season? Or just the Fall 2012 season? Is that to mean all 4 expansions will be released before the end of the year and then next year will be the 2013 season? If a single piece of new, paid, DLC is released during the "season", which it certainly sounds that way, your entire half-baked argument goes out the window.[/quote]

They said it will be out by June 2013, and knowing Gearbox, they have probably planned the last one to be released may-June
