I actually am thrilled that I finally get to play Bioshock on my PS3. My computer is crap and I don't have a 360, so for me it's just gravy that I finally get the chance to play the game. It should be in the mail as we speak.Decoy Doctorpus post=9.74473.841093 said:

As for the whole exclusives in general it's a bit annoying to see. As far as I'm concerned they can release it for whatever system they feel like. I won't mind 360 owners playing MGS4.
I do however have a slight problem with the games being made for 360 and then ported to PS3. I would like it to be the other way round. I would be ok with some games being PS3 exclusives due to hardware issues if they exist, as it would be a pain playing a game that's been amputated to fit on the 360. Don't know if that actually is an issue, but some claim it is.
Hell, they say they aren't even doing it for the PC so you PS3 people would have to be very lucky.
Any PS3 person who says they don't want GOW is in denial. I'm not afraid to admit that I'd love MGS on the 360.

The consensus seems to be that if you so much as utter even the consideration that Gow2 will appear on the PS3 you are some sort of deluded PS3 fanboy who is defending your console to the hilt.

True, but what I've seen, most people with a PS3 here, don't care/want GoW. Edit:Got Bioshock on PC that one weekend steam had it for $15. But Bioshock and Gears of War aren't comparable. One's awesome, the other is...meh.
If this thread was full of fanboys then it would have been locked by now. The Escapist's members (from what I've seen) are an intelligent bunch so all is good here, apart from the fact that we still have no conclusion (although it is quite difficult to know what will happen in the future).

Actually, I have to agree; Bioshock is a bit better than Gears. Not a whole lot better, but enough to make a reasonable arguement about it.D_987 post=9.74473.841347 said:

Thank you Indigo. You corrected my numbers. But NONE of the games that you mentioned were PULLING THE #'S AND PRAISE THAT GEARS HAS! GEARS WAS THE FIRST AMAZING TITLE ON THE 360! Bioshock is good but it has yet to become one of the senior titles on the 360. Everyone who owns a 360 has played Gears. And Gears 2 will only be seen as a pc port 2-3 years after release, like Gears 1.

107 exclusives for the PS3 and 97 for the Xbox, all this tells me as someone who looks beyond simple baiting is the fact the PS3 has to try harder to sell itself with a higher percentage of exclusives. The 360 sell's fewer exclusives because the console looks after itself, the PS3 has to rope people into paying more for the same games by making sure that more of the games if offers are exclusives.
Stop and think for a moment, you walk into a bar and see 2 girls sitting side by side, one is stunning, the usual blonde sterotype, the other a nerdy brunette who is clearly the more intellectual of the 2. Consider do you want something pretty to show your friends but get nothing deep out of? Worked it out, Xbox360 percentage of Exclusives = 17.8%
while the PS3 has 20.5%, not a massive difference but it just says to me PS3 is trying harder.
If anything she would be the crazed gun toting goth chick but again im partial to abit of Satan worshiping sex appeal now and then =P and if we bring the Wii into this I think at least 1 person is going to prison for statutory rape... the less said the better xD

As it was a discussion me and Dingo were having over exclusivity and how that plays out in the current gen console wars, I will put in my two cents.
Namely, it was a theoretical example. Besides that thread and a couple of "wouldn't it be nice" articles I have seen no mention of Gears going to any other system. Given that as a 3rd person shooter it isn't that exceptional (which is not to say it's at all bad, it's very good) by the time it came to a point where it is positioned as a multi-platform title I doubt that Sony would be interested in it. I doubt MS would be too interested in it at that time either. But I have no crystal ball, when Gears of War 7 is being released for the Nintendo super in 2030 I may change my attitude.
As for all the fanboyism going on in here, I would like to let axia and Ravenrandomnumbers know that neither of you are Bill Gates so your ultimate assessments are just chattering if you insist on repeating them thirty flipping times.
The PC is not considered in the same field of competition as consoles (now you know) primarily because a PC is inherently not a console, which is why you will be able to find a plethora of console "exclusives" available on PC. What they are saying is that it is exclusive to a particular console among consoles.
Finally for all the "Gears sucks" and "Killzone sucks worse" posts, while both games are subject to personal taste, both Gears and Killzone are top notch games for their systems and in their genre. While you may not like them, unit sales unfortunately counter your assessment of the titles suckery (the halo and FF argument).
