Im unsure about this myself, do you think Gears of War 2 will be an interesting new thing or just Gears 1 with a lick of paint? Either way im sure it will be good just looking for opinions. Also i'm hopeing for a longer campaign, Gears 1 did make up for that with amazing online though i suppose.

Aren't all squeals just glittered up re-makes? But Gears 2 looks like a very nice glittery re-make. I will be getting it, but I love gears like some love halo.

Actually it's looking like Gears 2 has a HUGE amount of new additions. Tons of new enemies, new weapons, 10 player multiplayer (step up from 8 player), 5-Player coop, much improved visuals and they claim thousands of tweaks to the cover system. Not to mention rideable brumaks and reavers. And Cliffy B has said that the campaign will be longer. See stage demo of Gears 2 on Gamespot. Yeah i've already pre-ordered it. Looking great!

All I hope for is that Gears 2 will be good enough that they will eventually port it to the PC, but a tad less buggy. Since I dont have an Xbox I gotta wait for a PC port..which normally adds more stuff to the original console version :p.

See, now they mention all the good elements that have been added (as every game will do fo the press release) but after a few weeks of it being out there will be many people on this site listing all the bad elements they left in. The moral of this story being, wait until it is actually out before you start saying what is going to be the stuff of legend (or even, in some cases, the work of numerous evil entities).

It will be very similar controls and layout. The HUD is exactly the same. Then again, that hasn't stopped the Half-Life 2 series from kicking names and taking ass. It's a toss up between this one and Fable II atm as to which I'll get for my next purchase.

Well you certainly seem to know more about it than me, sounds like its going to be awsome. Then again all my knowlage is taken up by Fable 2 :D 5-player co-op..do you know if that's only over live or can you do 4 player on the same console?

Maybe word better, no?

How can you have 5 player co-op with only 4 players per console?

It's gonna be Gears 1.5 because that's what the people have been asking for, but will that mean it's gonna suck? No, not at all.

It's not really 5 player co op, its a multiplayer mode called horde where 5 people have to hold out against waves of locust. 2 player co op in campaign though.
